I had a deaf friend who seemed to think it was the best thing ever. I asked her if she'd ever want to have normal hearing, to which I got a pretty firm no. Whenever she refused to wear hearing aids, I'd mention the possibility of hearing nearby danger saving her from injury and stuff (she's a beastly lip reader). She hated hearing. Maybe she's just weird as well as deaf, but she always made it seem like most deaf people wouldn't want normal hearing.

my sister lost hearing in grade four. the doctors gave her hearing aids,but they only worked for a while. one of her ears had died completely. the other one had the slightest bit of hearing. they gave her the cochlear ear implant, allowing her to hear. its amazing what itsdone for us. she is now 22,with a beautiful 8month old baby boy.

You're perfectly normal. Everyone has SOMETHING weird about them. That's normal. Autism, progeria, downsyndrom, deaf, blind, crooked nose, geeky, vegetarian, hyper, drunk, anything!!! In my case, depression. A lot of people don't feel "normal" because others our able to hide their issue, while they can't. Just be proud of who you are.

let's see the good part about not feeling pain, no dying from pain during a surgery, no need for anastesia, child birth will be a sinch, no headaches, she can probably fight for awhile until her body gives out, same with running, if she become MI-6 she doesnt have to fear torture, the bad parts about not feeling pain......not heeding the body's warnings, will never know if she has a cavity or a parasite, will not know if she is allergic to certain foods, will not know if her foot or hair on fire

Without feeling pain, you can be seriously injured and not know it. Her could have a her appendix rupture and never know it until she became seriously ill because she would not feel the pain of an appendicitis. This disorder is no gift.

It's not actually too cool- if you can't feel pain you have NO IDEA what's going on to your body sort of- you cant feel a broken bone, a 105 fever or internal bleeding for sorts... so it's not about a painless time giving birth or whatever, it's not fun in the long run- you could walk around with a third degree burn and succumb to a disease without knowing what the hell happened.
