To be fair, though, at least in Soul Eater both are used by the main characters. SE is just so full of bullet timers nothing else than a lucky shot or a snipe from far away will work for guns, anyway. (For example they did try sniping that blonde guy shown on the video, to no avail).

This is true. At the first fight with Mosquito, the anime breaks off from the manga. So therefore, we never got to see the REAL badass Black Star vs Mifune fight (There is one, but it's MUCH worse than the manga version).

Imo the anime ended very poorly. I'm not saying it's because it split off from the manga, because FMA did that and I loved both the original and Brotherhood. The ending to the anime is just so cliche and is disappointing.
