  • Can someone tell me the style of this music?

  • Hope my neighbours like this song...

  • This movie, is so epic :'C make's me cry bout some topics on it.

Not a lot of visual effects but :C

  • I guess this is that "poetic singer" that Doug Walker from The Nostalgia Critic hates so much.

  • One of the most brilliant films, I have ever seen. I agree to the others, it IS 10x better than Avatar!

    Greetings from germany.

    -.Etorofu86.-

  • this is #1 in my music list! so great! I never got tired of listening to this and never will =DDD ... it brings back great memories to me

  • 2mins in "epicness" i love this and the movie, avatar can die

  • the soundtrack is the best ever...so is the movie!!

  • *has an epicness overload*

  • best OST ever

  • better than avatar

  • This movie is much better than Avatar !

  • Actually avatar is a masterpiece, visual effects were fucking good. But D9 BLEW MY MIND!

  • This movie is so sad. It shows how rassist humans are everybody want to know if there are Aliens out there but when we met them we aren't acting better then in the past ... Awesome Movie very underrated!

  • BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!!

  • @RnBberlin

fo sure one of the best ever

  • reminds me of black hawk down

  • I hope they do second part ....this movie is amazing

  • from the beginning similar to the black hawk down

  • Finished watching this movie 5 minutes ago and yet i feel like i can watch it again in 5 minutes!

  • i love this movie and how true to human life it is. all the alien space fantasy that we have seen in the past just dont compare

  • Sci-Fi fans mind your own busines, if Avatar didn't satisfy you on the Sci-Fi level that doesn't meen it's a crapy movie, it has a great story and great CGI, and it is the best 3D movie ever made

  • @claudiubossul Besides, it's basically Pocohantus in space. He spent all of those years in special effects.

  • @ElliottoGlovera well it's not complety original but it's a good adaptacion

  • @claudiubossul It also attempts to have us side with aliens that killed us on sight when we came to negotiate trade.

  • Nobody understands when I tell them that District 9 is one of my all time favorite movies... Then again, almost everyone has shitty taste in movies/television these days.

  • @GmoneyProductions29 District 9 is the next Alien, the next big Sci-Fi that people will keep talking about, because it's worth talking about.

  • @GmoneyProductions29 Aren't you special.

  • @IlluminatedPhantom I sure am. At least, that's what my mommy tells me.

  • How the fuck dis film didn get an award?? Why avater etc sort of film can get the award?? Most prolly theres a lobby, who goes after the big banner name, and leave dis sort of world class movie on one side.

  • Don't know what everyone has, I think the first part is better of the video :)

  • @Nicvido English, please?

  • best film i seen in years

  • Does anyone know what this song or author is called... I really love songs like these, theyre so beautiful, unique, outstanding and captivating.

  • @jhngomezusmc if you want to download use this website called dirpy.com you can download muisc or videos form youtube free

  • Hey coolharry1236 dont forget "the Lion King" too...lol

  • los primeros 2 minutos del tema son maravillosos ....cuando escucho esta canción no dejo de repetir la misma pieza

  • My faviourate film of all time

  • @00MrBlob agreeee!!!! This and shutter island

  • I love that image, where can i get it?

  • Brilliant Movie, I watch it over and over...

  • great movie!!

  • Fuck the Hurt Locker, Precious, and Avatar. District 9 deserves those Academy Awards.

  • @Treldman Too bad you can't appeal Academy Awards :P

  • @Treldman Yes it definitely deserved the Oscar for Best picture but no, don't fuck these movies cause they're all great. Don't get me wrong, D9 is one of the best movies I've ever seen and it's certainly better than these other ones you mentioned, but still, these movies are great as well. I get your point though ;)

  • @Treldman ya dude district 9 was epic

  • @Treldman F Precious and Hurt Locker, it should've been Avatar and District 9.

  • 4:03 to 5:00 is probably one of the most moving pieces I have ever heard.

  • This is truly such an under-rated film. It deals with rascism on a very REAL level. Some critics complained that the last act was only violence and that no attempt to resolve any problems were made. Well for one...that wouldnt make any movie...but secondly...realisticly...this is probably what would have happened. Besides there was a point to the violence. Wikus was defending the defensless.

  •

this film touches my heart and in the deep of my soul. It's appalling!

  • Comment removed

  • One night I dreamed I was in District 9, I was half human and half prawn and I helped Wikus Van De Merwe to fight the MNU... It was really weird but it's too bad that it was not reality

  • MUTHER FOK !

  • NO I SHOOT THE FOKIN PIG ERE I WONT SHOOT THE FOKIN PRAWN!

  • IM NOT GONNA SHOT DA FOKIN PRAWN MAN!

  • AHH FOKIN HELL

  • AAHHHH FOK!

  • you couldn't have said that better, this is probably the most unique movie i've ever seen, the way they marketed the movie makes it look like another typical alien movie, once we understood the characters it really made you care for them...probably the best experience i've had at the theatres.

  • what's the actual name and artist of this song?

  • y are all the coolest movies set in africa?? and games? District 9.. Blood Diamond... Far Cry 2.. Black Hawk Down... need i see more??

  • @coolharry1236 you forget Resident Evil 5 too :)

  • @RamrodAI exactly!! :D

  • As far as visuals go avatar is awesome it had the most overly done story just like every movie about american colonialism. Pocahantus is a good example

  • @kluxxl1 finally someone who is on my side of the argument. You sir are a genius!

  • I love the part starting at 1:58...

it's a perfect movie with a perfect soundtrack...

I could watch this movie a hundred times and it wouldn't get boring...

  • sublime !!!!!!<3333333

  • I don't often comment, but I really love this film. It portray's a very realistic reaction from humans, people say we would panic, but we're more advanced than that and we do try to help if something crashes but the experimentation as well and the fear of the 'prawns' because they're different.

The soundtrack just makes the whole movie! <3

  • Great movie I loved it such a perfect film!!!

  • This > Mainstream crap, oh i mean music

  • BEST MOVIE!!!!!!

  • You do have a point... Cheers! From Australia!

  • this is 10X better then avatar. avatar should never have been nominated over district 9. avatar had a crap story and acting.

  • @Fail27897 No, Avatar is the best 3D film ever made.

  • @GreenBlockland As he said very good Avatar = crap

  • @Fail27897 I watched Avatar in IMax 3-D, and everyone said they were blown away. The next day I watched D9 on a crappy portable TV. I completely forgot about Avatar. Aside from the effects, that movie had nothing to offer. D9 is amazing, and so much more satisfying. :)

  • my Nr 1!

  • Beautiful

  • O tak film bardzo przejmujący, naprawdę dobry film a muzyka .......... przepiękna .......

  • A little spoiler:

What's the song played after Koobus death?

I just can't find this FOKKEN song!(It's the same song played at the credits).

  • @lucaalbano8 I believe what you're looking for is called Prawnkus, my friend.

  • pobre hombre perdio todo lo que tenia en su vida por culpa de la radiasion y por su maldito suegro T_T que hijo de mil puta!

  • This is the last known footage of Wikus van de Merwe. And we can only speculate as to what has happened to him. The more zany conspiracy theories state that he's been captured by MNU or by another government. Or by perhaps some shady government agency and is actually being held in captivity. If we knew where he was, we would help him...

  • "is that tear gas"? "no it's Cat food!"

best movie i've seen......i wanna say since but no its it's just the best!

  • if you are not from europe or america, west...

  • Music at 2:40 is epic, like Kingmaker-Immediate Music. Plz listen, it'll make your day

  • la canción es preciosa.

  • neil blomkamp should do a movie adaptation of half life 2 just sayin

  • this made me cry i swear truly good story and i hope they do make a sequel but really wish it be as good as the first 1. please!

  • avatar had nice graphics but no emotions...i almost fucking cry in this one

  • This music is like "The brave Aliens will come back". Stephen Hawking is right, Humanity is so cruel and aggressive. :(

  • @Abricialio Hawking is a genius! Well the aliens will give humanity what it needs but not what it deserves. It deserves that MNU be vaporized along with the "researchs" who cut up the aliens to make weapons. They failed miserably but now it is time for MNU to be vaporized.

  • @Abricialio It's human nature brother, you need not a man with a well known name to tell you that. But I believe there is still more good than bad in this world, in the human chapter that is.

"We contradict ourselves everyday. We love, we hate, we make peace, we make war."

    -Human Nature 101 - Verse 1-

  • mayweather v ortiz

  • za każdym razem mam ciary

  • The beginning looks like black hawk down.

    Masterpiece !!!!!

  • Here comes the sweety man!

  • @aaron5364 HA HA HA HA that was funny man and so true!

  • @aaron5364

    *throws sweet*

  • This film is what avatar tried to be, and failed. Masterpiece imo.

  • @SuperMrLahlou Different movies cause in one the aliens are refugees and in the other one the humans are the alien invaders.

  • I saw this movie for the first time yesterday and I can't get it out of my mind, I don't think I ever will. It made me cry a lot and think a lot about what kind of creatures we humans are. Waiting for the return of Christopher Johnson. Meanwhile Im pretty sure I'll re-watch this movie a couple times more.

Btw, this song is SO freaking beautiful!

  • siempre que escucho esta cancion lloro

  • @Elinformatico013 Sí, es bastante impresionante

  • I keep coming back to this soundtrack, and to The Mist, and to Tron Legacy, and Lord of the Rings. They all strum the same strings in my heart.

  • @overusedoxymoron2003

I agree with you, but I also listen to How To Train Your Dragon soundtrack :D

  • the movie is good

  • yeah this movie wqs sick i love it kinda sad but lots of action waiting for part 2

  • this movie made me feel so much emotion, it was one if the first movies to actualy bring me to tears at some points and close to tears at others

the scene where the littleone is worrying about his father, i never thought i would be able to care so much about an animated, well, bug, but they made it possible

  • @Dooland1991

You gave words to what I had been feeling about this movie. In fact I have been searching for that scene on youtube about the little one when it seems to lose hope as the command ship crashes. That scene made brought tears in my eyes. I would thank a million if someone uploads that scene.

  • @Dooland1991 It's the same with Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

  • i found this film so life like so real it is almost the goverment are getting us ready for the future

  • good soudtrack that's what make a great movie.

  • 3 years . i´m waiting

  • Fuck it. I'm joining the A team.

  • @vaders501fist *Fook it.

  • Fooking 3 years meng !!

  • this film really made me see how awful humans can be

  • District 9 best alien movie ever. battle of LA was shit compare to this

  • @RZworld1

Battle LA was shit compared to most things, much less District 9.

  • @Jzadek72 dude, this was directed and produce by Neill Blomkamp. Battle La was a good movie for what it was. and this was excellent for what it was. they are both good movies. But, what would be the best film. is that Neill B. Peter J. and Steven S. created the movie Halo.

  • @Terminal331

Oh sure, good for what it was. But what it was wasn't very good either. And while I love Halo, I'm glad that this was made instead.

  • @Jzadek72 dude you make no sense. Battle LA is a different story. like Skyline is a remake of War of the worlds and it sux. Battle La and District 9 are 2 different moives but by the same idea. they are both good but why insult a movie? there is really no point of anything in it. you're not going to be famous for wha tyou are saying you know.and trying to turn this to an argument, it is very pointless.

  • @Terminal331

I'm not trying to turn this into an argument at all, merely justifying my viewpoint. And my viewpoint is that I could name countless examples of fiction where an advanced alien military fights a weaker force of human opponents who are morally superior, with bonus points if they are basically US marines. Battle LA is so pathetically cliched, I originally thought it was satire.

  • @Jzadek72

my viewpoint is tha tthey are both good movies and District 9 is an excellent film and Battle La is good as well. I do perfer Distric 9 over Battle LA but there is no need to insult one film because you like the other. there are movies out there just sux but yet again they have a good view behind the story. I loom more at the plot, story and view of the movie. not the action or instense whatever. if it has a good view behind the movie it's good. can anyone agree with that?

  • @Terminal331

You seem to be missing my point. It's fine if you like Battle LA. I think it's awful. Not because I like District 9 better, but because I didn't like it.

  • @Jzadek72

lol I do understadn you point but no need to insult another film.

  • @Terminal331 don't waste your time on people like that bro, this is filmmaking...battle La is not, it's a razzie contender, and skyline was considered one of the worst movies released this year. This movie is considered one of the..if not the best sci fi movie ever made, it rivals blade runner/ alien etc...and personally i think it blows the matrix outta the fuckin water, there was no emotional depth in any of those movies. This movie is simply unique.

  • @MrProphet24

okay, your point because you are insulting what I have not even said to agree. cause i tell you that I know a lot of people who likes other movies instead of liking District 9. I said this movie was excellent and Battle LA was good. I never said which movie was better but I did say that they are both really good movies. why do you try to make an argument when there is really no point?

  • @MrProphet24

and skyline was not released this year, it was realeased back in 09 I believe if not 2010. and how ca nyou compare matrix to this movie? that is a whole different outline. if you want to compare that kind of movie. watch Equallibrium. that is an epic movie.

  • @Terminal331 you're right matrix is nothing like district..i'm not a big fan of the sci fi genre i was just comparing them because they're both considered epic sci fi movies. Haven't heard of Equallibrium i'll check it out though.

  • @MrProphet24 Equilibrium is one of the best movies you will ever watch.

  • damm i hope they make a sequel to this movie,, i really want to see how this story continues

  • IT'S TEH SWEETEH MAWN

  • 10 people are racist human assholes.

  • i still demand a sequel

  • This film is a fucking masterpiece, best alien/sci-fi film i have ever seen. No bullshit fights, just story and real chrachter, which you don't see a lot of these days.

  • @jimftr

    agreed. FUCK AVATAR!

(dunno why I even brought that up :D)

  • I SUPPORT NON-HUMAN RIGHTS!!!!!

  • This movie has everything, a true masterpiece. Great main character, great debuting (!) actor to perform his role (Sharlto <3), great debuting (!) director, great producer of course (Peter Jackson, you've once again blown me away), great way of filming (mockumentary), great epic soundtrack, great storyline and script, great conversations between the different characters, great visual and sound effects, just FOOKIN GREAT!

Also good to see nobody has been trolling about this movie yet, for once.

  • this movie was sooooo epic. Very underrated. This was one movie I really enjoyed watching in the theatre.

  • @boygenius7 Not really underrated, just fookin unknown. When I tell them about this movie most people don't know the movie, unfortunately :(

Yeah, it was truly fooking amazing

  • @boygenius7 Sorry by the way for saying "fookin" twice ;)

  • Christopher Johnson : I'll Be Back in 3 Years...

    2012 Presents District 10? Please!!!!!

  • @StarWarsStory

It's not official yet, but whatshisface the guy who directed it said something about it in an interview

  • @StarWarsStory A sequel would be great if they could top the first, but i highly doubt that's possible, they should leave it the way it is.

  • @StarWarsStory 2 Months. I promise.

  • @StarWarsStory That's right, look for Christopher Johnson and his armies to kick MNU's ass on 08/17/2012!

  • Ray guns that turn people into tomato paste.

  • The movie is a phenomenal masterpiece. OST is deep and very emotional. The movie itself promotes deep thinking about humanity as a whole, what we can do for money and power. We are little cruel children who still are not grown up enough to understand the true value of life.

  • @Justas923 I agree with you

  • @Justas923 Man, unfortunatly what you said is true!

  • @Justas923 I wish i had friends who had the same mindset. To some people movies are just entertainment..to me this movie was a life lesson on how us americans think we're the most important beings on this planet, when we're just little forms of "coincidence" and technically don't have any impact on this planet whatsoever. People need to wake up, this movie will teach you something if you're open to it.

  • @MrProphet24 Right^^

  • @MrProphet24 Americans? Dude the movie was set in Africa..

  • @ghargz lol my bad i meant human beings in general.

  • @Justas923 you say that, but really the money and power are what keep you under a roof posting on you tube; sure its unequal but that's just what the commies said and look how that worked out

  • @gluetubeserver Yes, money is engine of our society today, but the system is pretty f***ed up. Hundreds of years ago main engine was slavery, for example. It made their world to spin but it was f***ed up too.

Today problem is not the money, but deformed capitalism. Small business are being eaten by huge and powerful corporations. The situation with Wall Street is a great example how messed up global economy really is.

  • @Justas923 exactly, but for now i'll enjoy my aloofness while browsing YouTube videos, suckling on a coke and waiting for a pizza to arrive. can to much more than that unfortunately, but its relative comfort that desensitizing us to real issues

  • @Justas923 Im afraid money has always been the source of problems. Slaves were bought and sold with money. Look at the 20 million people in US prisons. Ultimately, wether there for murder, arson, drugs, 95% of the causes of crime are money, or more importantly, a lack thereof. Wars are fought over the gaining and losing of money, either in the form of oil, slaves, mineral wealth, or the crops that can be grown on the land gained. And money will not be leaving our civilization for a long time.

  • @overusedoxymoron2003 Money is a symbol of products and services you can get in exchange, so in a sense you're right. For that money is also a symbol of power and control. But it all comes to two simple emotions of human: pleasure and comfort. All economy is based on this two things and that's exactly what money gives to people. If not money, it would be food or something else. So the money isn't what should be blammed. It's the humans themselves.

  • @Justas923 And wouldnt you know it, but those themes are expressed significantly in the movie.

  • @overusedoxymoron2003 well you know what the Bible says..."money is the root of all evil"
