  • WTH is that? Slideshow?

  • Well it IS a space opera...

  • No wonder the Stars Was music was so good. Williams took from the best.

  • Yes it fits well. Erich Korngold's "Kings Row" is the one that is strikingly similar to star wars... only it came out decades earlier.

  • The point was really not to show any similarities, but rather to show how good this Dvořák theme would had fitted in the Star Wars universe.

  • wow...these aren't similar at all. The opening to the fourth movement of Dvorak 9 does very closely resemble the theme from Jaws though ie. the accelerating half steps

  • This is the worst of the music comparisons I have heard. Dvorak's piece doesn't even have the relentless ostinatos of the Imperial March.

  • I guess nothing is new under the Sun.

  • Sorry. I don't see it.

  • haha yes!

  • not Dvorak but Dvořák

  • to neuměj vyslovit... :-D

  • I don't know how is it possible, but it works out perfectly. Allegro con fouco and Empire

  • jeah, i noticed the same thing :) I thing that John Williams was inspired by that one :)

  • I had always heard that John Williams "borrowed" from other composers, now I see that is quite true. The similarities are undeniable.

  • It is true, he take 15 to like 20 line out of a peice, arranges it and then stickes it in his music. Its stealing.

  • @Noobie008 It is hardly stealing...and its not 15 or 20 lines...that is stealing...its a few measures, or a note, or a portion of a melody

  • that's funny, I love this song and it kind of goes with this
