Whats ALL the differences in a prosumer, consumer, and pro cam? Like what extra features would a pro cam have cause i know some tiny camcrders that have better quality then DV tape cams that are larger? any help?
@BBrtqB de big camera is much better in low light situations, and they have better moving shots, in the 1 chips (little) cams you get alot smudges when you see quick moving things.
I have both cameras. Amazing the little difference .. there is between the cameras.
Many times I reach for the Canon First, out of convenience ... lesser bulk .. less obtrusive .. and if you're in a park in NYC, as soon as they see the Sony, the police want to see a permit ... With the Canon ... they just think you're a tourist.

Very Good comparison. I own both cameras and sometimes I think the less expensive Canon HV 30 has better quality.
I also have the canon T2I and the hi def video quality BLOWS away either one of these cameras ..... They're not even in the same category ... and with the amount of interchangeable lens that are available .... getting Hollywood effects of big budget cameras on a budget now becomes a reality.
mine sufered a terrible accient today, cant stop crying, complete loss, im 16 and worked 3 summers to get it, cant stop crying, best camera ever, im saving for the hx a1, WHAT DO YA THINK
Well the FX1 is a little sharper, but still I figured it would be a big difference. I'm going to test it out at the track that way I have some action shots to see how it compares.
0:48 hv30 is better

Already difficult to compare, because the HV30 has green bias and the FX1 has red bias.

the colour depth on the fx1 are amazing

it depends ofcourse
hv30 for those who are not into cameras and just shooting and editing
but fx1 for those who like to control their camera!
i can say fx1 in the shot with the bike has more blacks! hv30 crashes some of the blacks.
if you know how to edit and like the way of the focus rings works and stuff like that, then fx1 ftw, if not hv30.
you can have the same and even better look with the fx1 than the hv30 if you edit the original footage... ;)

PERO LA SONY PRICE 3,000 DOLARS OR CANON HV30 IS ONLY 800 DOLARS.
AND THE QUALITY OF VIDEO IS ALMOST THE SAME, BUT the price difference is very high.
LO QUE CUESTA UNA WITH SONY FX1 CANON 3 BEST BUY ME VH30 OR NOT? YOU THINK

The sony is better, more sharper, good saturation colors, good contrast.
djmelucho 3 years ago
wow, i am very suprised
the fx1 is a bit sharper, and more saturated color, but the cannon seems to hold its place for about 1/3 the price.
thanks for doing this
