God gave you another opportunity there brother! Glad to hear you are the mends. I lost a friend some 35 years ago while riding a bike. He was not wearing a helmet. Because of his death I wear a helmet all the time, whether on the street or dirt riding. If your helmet is hot then get rid of that "cool" black helmet that absorbs the heat, and get a lighter colored one.
The journey continues to this day. For some reason my wife and family have some reservations about me replacing the totaled Valk. I really miss riding but… I really can’t refute the helmet comment about me being an idiot. I am/was a dirt bike guy from 14 years old and always wore a helmet in the dirt. I had this binary view of crashing on the street. I crash I die. I forgot to consider what happens if I crash and don’t die. In conclusion, where a helmet idiot!
I’m still alive and back to working at my pre-injury job. This little miscalculation only required a month of feeding/breathing/chest tubes along with a little bout of sepsis in conjunction with a bit of brain bleeding and another 5 months of in and out patient rehab.
Wear a helmet, ya big galoot!!

No helmet, no protective clothing and wearing thongs (flip flops)? I find it so hard to believe grown men can be so careless with their own lives.

@Mike84tube My friend, thank God you made it through. I'm so very pleased that you're okay.
I need to say something about wearing helmets.
My two friends (husband & wife) were killed on their Harley going on 2 years ago. An old woman lost control of her buick, and hit them head on.
They were both wearing helmets, yet, they both died.
I came to this decision; right, wrong, or indifferent. When it's your time, you're going to go. Helmet, or not.
I hope you'll ride again.

I remember when this happened. For Mike84tube, are you still alive? If so, are you still riding? Did you get another Valk? :)
