real pizza sauce has allot of ingredients, and it is definitive not like what he is cooking. these TV chefs half ass everything and leave all the ingredients out then they act like the garbage they are making is good.
She: You saw some video of making a pizza dough and thought "Yeah, what the heck, I can do that. I can fill the table with flour and pour water inside...Sure' why not, Jamie did it
Me: Well it looked pretty easy
! She: You know you gonn'a clean that up yes? Right now that is
Me: Y..eeh I guess so
.She (mummble): Looked easy pffff... You Know That's why he has a TV show and you dont
I first saw Jamie Oliver on Russian TV some two years ago, dubbed, of course. This year I thought about using Jamie's youtube videos as a source of extra motivation for my Russian students, studying English - a vivid way to show that knowing the language you can become extra knowledge. I just love his accent, his poetic way of expressing himself, his love of cooking, not to mention that his recipes are really fantastic! I cooked the pizza today. Lovely. Thank you.
@lekkimsm2500 it has nothing to do with the oil being virgin or extra virgin, it is about its own quality and character... some virgin oils are bitter some others are sweet. Jamie tends to use olive oil quite extensively through all his recipes : IF this oil is bitter it can be disturbing especially if you are not used to it, just look for a sweet one. by the way, any virgin olive oil is "extra virgin" and any virgin olive oil is cold pressed... all the rest is marketing. hope this helps.
@lekkimsm2500 it has nothing to do with the oil being virgin or extra virgin, the extra virgin is supposed to be better than the simply virgin oil. it is about its own quality and character... some extra virgin oils are bitter some others are sweet. @lekkimsm2500 Jamie seems just rushing through the recipes sometimes, and in fact he is generally veery accurate : timings, quantities, tips, etc, every detail has some importance. BUT on this one, as i have look at the video once again, i can hear him mention 6 to 8 table spoon. So, if you are really measuring 8 table spoons it will, of course, be too much. And by the way, i guess that when they show into the pan, it looks much more like 3 table spoons than anything else! hope this helps.
@lekkimsm2500 extra virgin has a darker tone and it has a deeper olive flavor because it hasn't been filtered, which i say is the best oil to cook with for everything

Jamie should stop calling monk's beard with the Italian name "agretti"; the way he pronounces it makes it sound line "a-gritty".

Eu não acredito que ele jogou os tomates coados no lixo!!!! Poderia aproveitar para outra coisa, umas bruschettas por exemplo, nossa que desperdício!

whats the difference between strong flour and regular flour?
02KMT 5 months ago
@02KMT Strong flour is most used in bakery, and regular flour is used to make "finer" things
Arrowly 5 months ago
@02KMT strong flour has more gluten, makes for a chewier crust, good for pizzas. regular flour is good for cakes etc

Whats the difference between extra virgin and regular olive oil?
lekkimsm2500 8 months ago
@lekkimsm2500 i think extra virgin oil is from the first squeeze, and regular oil is made from the subsequent squeezes

@kumquatsta I made a mistake trying to make the sauce... i did use extra virgin, and i did use a bit too much .... Tasted very bitter :S

@lekkimsm2500 extra virgin means that the oil is squeezed the same day the olives are picked. extra virgin is a reference to the first wedding night.
