Keep us posted on it. I've been staying out of my pool lately since we're right on the coast of NW Florida. Hope your problem turns out to be something simple and unrelated to the oil spill.
@moonshadow93924 Yeah, I found it on the web, pictures and all that, gave web sites with pictures of it ... but ironhead wont look at that ... nooo, lol
Hey Bro - I have a "CPO" and never seen b4. Newspaper is wood fiber, and chlorine, should break it down. Anything organic based should be toast in that high of a concentration of bleach. Has to be non organic. You should call the pool keeper of the city pool. See if he/she, had any of the goo. They would have had it tested chemically by now.
Dude! That's sum sickshit! What is it? Why all the filters! Up ere our waters great. Peace n' Tanks for making me aware . I wish everyone would be more careful with there bagage! (>..<)
If it's bacterial sun might kill it. I wonder what it would do in an acidic solution? Vinegar? Citrus? Or alkaline like concentrated mineral lime water? Heavy Soap? Wonder if the oil stuff would burn? I think it's probably that pink stuff I found info on, but it would be cool to see what affects chlorine resistant bacterial growths like that.
I'm betting the stuff in the bleach is pretty dead, even though it's chlorine resistant, that's gotta be to much.
Totally off the train of thought. Could it be nothing more than sealant from one of the many water joints? Such as a sealant ring or an o-ring broke down and dissolved into the pool? Pink, fibers, if I wasn't thinking NWO, Chemtrails, etc. My mind would lean to gasket, sealant, 0-ring.
@QuietBuck i have 3 black rubber o-rings in my filter system.....no sealents.....all pvc and clear glue piping...pool is all concrete.....no seals.....nothing pinkish anywhere....
Its nice to see someone doing this much investigatin'. But I'm pretty sure if it was some of that fly'n newspaper, it woulda turnt white in the that much bleach.
I've done alot of fish aquarium stuff. And it doesn't take much bleach to kill of anything bio-what-evered.
I don't see any problems with my garden from this last rain. But I had something detroy leaves after that big rain we had come from the gulf a few weeks ago.
I did have my very first incounter with one of them big mater worms.
Try some other solvents with the pink goo, like ammonia, and various oils that you have available from cooking oils to car lubricants. Whatever dissolves the goo will give you an idea of what it's made of.

My son is a pool tech and a chemist. He says it is mold and he sees it all of the time.
He says to try an rx super cartrige. He said he would drain the pool and clean it and refill it. Hard to get rid of.
