  • Great. I looked at a lot of other tutorials that didn't work or the XCode was out of date. The coding on this is much clearer and more logical. The one error I had is that ARC didn't allow explicit release. I replaced [audioPlay release] with [audioPlay stop]. Works fine and I'll work out the release later.

  • Thanks for your video!!!

What if the mp3 or wav file that I want to play is in my webpage server?

  • thanks very much! only problem for me was osx's lame multitasking making it hard to follow, if it had snap like windows that would be brilliant. My screen is really small so I cant really just arrange but anyway great tut, it worked flawlessly after crossing my fingers.

  • @carlofabyss window snapping features on Mac, search the App store for a program called Moom, you'll love it! The window snapping thing was the one thing about Windows that I preferred over Mac.

  • Thank's a lot for this tutorial, it worked great for me !

  • NS stands for NeXTSTEP, the language on which Apple's Mac OS X is based.

  • i had 1 error. In the part after we put our .mp3 file name (i had a .wav file), we entered this: [[NSBundle mainBundle] resoursePath]]]; It is telling me it is incorrect because "resource path" is not found and to (return type defaults to 'id'). I also put different fonts, a title, and background colors. But the fonts don't show and sound does not play. Now my app wont even come up. Can anyone tell me whats wrong?

  • I just made my first app following your walk through. Fantastic job, great instructions!

i have a problem with the programm:

i start the app in the iOS-Simulator and click start

then xcode shows me the line

" audioPlayer = [[AVAudioPlayer alloc] initWithContentsOfURL: error: url error:&error]; " in a green backcolor and a the end of the line xcode says :

"Thread 1: Program received signal: "SIGABRT".
