I do not recommend doing this..... much better ways to improve vocals.... also just right click on the original track and duplicate it (saves you from creating a new track, then copying and pasting the wave form). All you did was boost the S's in the vocals.... ???? That makes it less hollow or more tinny?? I vote for Tinny. Not knocking the effort but I wouldn't post this as a learning/teaching/instructional video...
Hey guys if anyone need there songs mixed and mastered, I'm the guy for it. I've worked with Yung Tone, Future, and many more artist. Email me at SWAGG3030@gmail.com and we can talk. I'm cheap compared to other prices you'll get.
I hope I can learn to use all these things :/ I want to record myself at home, cuz the producer guy I'm working with right now, just doesn't understand at all what I want musically >< My CD will end up sounding like sticky pop crap with some cheap techno in some songs..
No doubt, Yea I actually just installed Waves Diamond collection .. I will def. check it out .. I know a few engineers that use waves that's why i got it now .. Thanks for the help fam
I've been using ozone for a while now ,, but i dont seem to be to happy with the results i get from it .. it sound great in the studio , but not so much in clubs or cars with loud music. I actually stopped using it and began to use it again recently. I find that it hides my bass sometimes depending on the track im working on. If the beat is not mastered then it's a little better, but when it it mastered it ruins the mix with the vocals.. any tips ? Ive used the presets also and adjusted them
@dongee1 it might be the preset you are using cuz I know sometimes Ozone can over compress the bass so the track ends up sounding thinner. I also like to use the waves L plugins.. like an L2 combination with maybe an SSL EQ.. It all would depend on the track.. I would definitely check out the waves L plugins though
what plug in or compressor should be used on the master after everything is mixed and edited ? Something that will ensure the quality and volume of the entire song ...
Hey pro tools is not letting me bounce the song its saying that the file size is too large for the file type to support. Can this be caused by to many plugins?
hi dudes can any body recommend any good pluggins or soft wire i can use to mix a singer vocals ,am using logic pro , now i wanna try a new mix without using logic pluggins , any recommended soft wire ya can help suggest help ya brother out .
quick question!!!!!!!! ANSWER PLEASE ASAPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW MUCH RAM MEMORY, HARDRIVE SPACE AND PROCESSING SPEED DOSE THE COMPUTER HAVE?
That was the best tip I have ever learned so far! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! Any vids on properly using Reverb? i hear a lot of ppl over using it and I really want that R&B or Hip Hop taste to my vocal mixing! Thank again fam!
why not just duplicate the track straight up? like right click on the track and duplicate the whole thing. instead of create new track then copy then paste it there?
i have a mac and iam trying to set my template, how many aux tracks i need main vocal and more! cause when i got my protools i just started recording but it don't sound that bad.
i have been looking at youtube vidoes on how to mix my vocals and they all suck!!!! and this is the best info i used it for some vocals and it works perfectly thanx am glad theres people like u who know wat there doing and giving great info thanx again!!
@darklotusfaygo It allows you to create a consistent high frequency "shimmer" that doesn't explode on certain syllables. It also has the advantage of being able to add specific reverb and delay on the exciter and adjusting the level of the exciter with a fader rather than through a plugin.
YOU GUYS R TRULY BLESSED!!!! THANK YOU, CAUSE I WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO MAKE MY ARTIST VOICE CARRY. SHE HAS A BEAUTIFUL VOICE BUT THIS MAKES HER VOICE SOUND TEN TYMES BETTER. THANK YOU
Thanks man i did this on my mix and it worked nicely....can i get some tips on how to fit vocals on beats that are already made?it seems like my vocals are loud to the point where you cant really hear the instruments on the beat
no problem... but if your vocals are too loud you can start by turning them down until they fit nicely in the mix... there is no real specific way the best tool you have is your ear...listen to the way commercial songs are mixed and try to compare that to what you're doing. listen to the EQing. there is also a trick called the 3k trick which you turn up the EQ slowly at around 3k. most vocal frequencies are around there so turning them up or down will make them stand out or fall back in the mix
that was a good lesson thanks gonna use it on my vocals

Dont see the point in duplicating the track, you can get the same effect using an aux input.
SmoothShoes24 4 months ago
Do you compress the input signal threw a hardware compressor and eq or you only record from m-box to protools?
