@bader655 You know it's an inspriation because Al Pacino was not only so convicning as a Blind Man, but he showed that although he couldn't see, he had a way of looking at the world in a positive fashion that most "Seeing" People can't do. He must have been a joy to teach the tango to.

The first time I saw this film, I was by myself and literally fell over at 0:34, when the camera cut to Gabrielle Anwar. I gasped, slid off the couch, rewinded and couldn't believe what I had just seen. I kept rewinding and rewatching the scene three or four times until I could continue watching the rest of the film. Never before had I reacted so vividly to a film scene.

The first melody you hear is called "y todo a media luz" the melody they dance to is called "por una cabeza", ironically is not even a love story.....well between humans at least, it was written for a race horse very much loved by his owner....still beautiful indeed.....one of my all time favorite movie scenes and probably my favorite tango......amazing......just fabulous!!!!
