@martic36 I don't deliberately give casting (indegestible fur/feathers) though Dillon got some with just about every meal because I never bothered to skin what he ate. The Sharp-shinned hawk that I'm curretly flying gets very few castings because I skin the birds he gets to keep from taking so long to eat and to minimize the mess. Though all the old falconry books talk incestantly about giving castings I've never seen much evidence that it really is necessary for the health of the hawk.
The exams are administered by each state, so they can be different from state to state. The one for Iowa uses the Federal model created in the 1970's so it wasn't as current about some practices as are the more contemporary study guides. I used the California study guide figuring that if I knew it, I'd be fine with the actual test. It seemed to work out fine for me.
The test is pretty hard, but you are allowed to retake it. You can get an apprentice license after you find a sponsor, pass the test, and get you hawk facilities inspected.
I was just wondering how often should they have castings?? What is normal?

You must be at least 14 to get an apprentice falconry license. Contact your state Department of Natural Resources for an application packet.

hey where do you by hakws?

You must be a licensed falconer to buy a hawk. Apprentice falconers must trap a wild hawk as part of their training. (in US)
