I'm getting one in a few weeks, when wal-mart gets them back in. I'm taking mine camping and when my son who is 7months now is older I'll give it to him. great video keep them coming.
I bought one of these for my daughter for Christmas. Best gift ever. She's still a little hesitant with the .410. She loves shooting the .22 though. Looking forward to getting a small scope mounted on it for her someday.
Thanks for the video. My dad has bad arthritis and can't carry a full sized shotgun or rifle anymore, I am buying him one of these for Christmas. He's 72 and still wants to go hunting so I have to find a way to make it easier on him and this Rossi is the perfect fit. Your video swayed my decision.
Do you know if you can buy the other rossi barrels for this gun and just put it on, like the barrels that come with it? Becuase i was wanting to buy this combo and then buy a deer rifle barrel and i was woundering if i could just put it on wiht any problems or modifications.
LOL, your kid is just like yea were doing a video, nice. But anyways im 12 and-instead of getting a mosin nagant i wanted this with a 20 guage and 22 lr but your daughter of something had a 223. barrel or something please reply thank you and sorry for incorrect grammer my computer is'nt working well.
@pagelock5 You are correct, my daughter has a Rossi Trifecta that has 3 barrels. It has a .22 long rifle, 20 gauge shotgun and 243 rifle barrel. I have not done a review on those guns yet. I love the 3 gun combo and so does she.
@bill8176 We have a 410 / 45 long colt derringer from Bond Arms. This little gun is really cool. The derringer has a riffled barrel to stabilize the bullet from a 45 long colt. The 410 rifle does not. There are higher pressures associated with a 45 long colt than are produced by a 410 shell and I do not believe the 410 shotgun would be safe to contain this extra pressure.
have you tryed .410 slugs in that gun at all? im so curious about that because i assume the .410 barrel they give you is smooth bore....but with such a short barrel and no rifling it seems that it would be very inaccurate when using slugs.
I traded a piece of junk Beretta 92F (hated that gun) for one just like this but in stainless for my oldest son when he was 7. It was a great trade. I lost $400 in the deal and felt like I still came out ahead. A great gun!
i love this gun i took it to my dads friends farm and like you said its a good under the seat gun i went for a ride on the quad and spotted a fox going after a rabbit so i turned of the quad grabbed it and put on the 22 barrel pulled the hammer and shot him at around 300 yards
I have the rossi 20 gauge/.22 matched pair(Youth model). These little guns are fun as hell. But I have the youth model with the synthetic stock. I'm not trying to seem like a baby but damn, the 20 gauge kicks like a mule. XD
i have the exact same gun wit the 22/410 and made by rossi.the 410 is perrfect for rabbit.and the 22 is good for stuff like oposumes, racoons and sqwerls.
I am impressed with your boy. First thing I saw was his finger never entered the trigger guard until he was ready to fire - great firearm training on your part dad. My sons are still too little to start shooting (the oldest just turned 3), but I've been looking at one of these rossi matched pairs as their first rifles. I've been cutting down on my guns, trying to limit myself to only a few calibers, interchangeable barrels and calibers make this a great weapon.
@mrfunkington Thank you for the kind words. We always stress gun safety. We have 2 of these sets and a Rossi trifecta with a 243 barrel. We love them and they are just right for the kids to handle.
ive been looking at the rossi matched pair 410 an 22lr or the rossi tuffy for a truck gun an i was woundering wich you thought would be a better choice im turning 18 in 3weeks an go to work at 3 an 4am an like to have something in the truck if i need it an where i live pistols are not legal to carry until 21 but longarms are legal to carry
@christeeter I would chose the matched pair. It will be as cheap but give you more versatility than the Tuffy. The Tuffy would work too, but I would rather have two caliber options rather than one. Just my 2 cents.
@christeeter I am sure it can. We have not done it, but we have fired slugs from these guns with no problems. The PDX rounds should be no different than slugs.
never mind, just bought me one today at Dicks Sporting Goods :) comes with a tannish brown stock/forestock though. Didnt have enough cash on me to buy some shells along with the gun so hopefully sometime this week I'll get some. I also need to buy a dovetail mount too for the.22 barrel :P
I just wanted to say that I own this weapon. I am military and have been for 7 years. I absolutely LOVE this gun. It shoots straight, its lightweight, and durable. I use it as my pack gun for camping/bushcrafting/survival. If you are looking for a 22/410 this is the gun to get!
ah i remember this was my first gun,(or guns) im 14 now and i have a mossberg 500 20 gauge with a 2 1/2 inch barrel and extra tight choke and a marlin 336w 30/30
@hockeyplusguns17 I don't know. If you are good with wood I am sure you could make your own if no one else makes one. That would look nice I am sure. I think they make them synthetic to cut down the weight since they are made for youth shooters. Post a video if you make one. I would like to see how it looks!
@2brothersadventures sure will. yeah i want it to just do a little small game and stuff like that cuz it looks like a fun little gun and im thinking about getting the 20 gauge.
The gun so light it likely has more kick ( felt recoil) than other guns. The Mossberg model 510 which is a .410 pump is extremely light on the barrel end also for younger kids to be able to hold up. (I ''think'' it was called a model 510)...
Outstanding, no-nonsense review. I saw one of these today at Ginder Mountain where, of course, you can't get anybody to show you a gun. You just sold me, though!
Thank you!
BTW, your son is a man of few words ... I like that!
@Magnageek We still love this gun. Last weekend my son used the 410 to take his first Quail. He was beyond excited. I love this gun too as it is so lightweight and short that it makes a great truck or quad gun.
Sweet ur a cool dad. My dad is the same way he would always take me to shoot at young ages and still tday (im 14).......Rock on cool dads good job btw lil guy.
I have a .223 rossi youth model. It's a lot of fun and the single shot keeps you from blowing through ammo and teaches one to make your shots count. I also am a fan of the KISS rule.
