I really like the blood effects. Well done, the unrealistic nature of them reminds me of Ninja Assassin, which judging by the name of your short is what you may have been basing them on. Is that stock blood that you motion tracked?

Very nice... Good enough that I find myself half comparing it a full budget movie, which I guess is rather un-fair. ;) ...but as such, the fight was a bit too rigid and lacked the fluidity one expects. But, like Metallarn stated, I did like how fast the boss-fight ended. Reminded me of Equilibrium. (A movie I liked a lot. ;)

Can't wait to see what you guys would manage to create with a real budget. ;)))

I hate the cgi blood that's in all movies nowadays, it looks horrible. Not that I'm a big fan of gore, but it just doesn't look real. Nice short film anyway.

@loldevil666 Thanks, we used the kit lens 18-135mm for the tele shots in the beginning, the tamron 17-50mm for all the other handheld shots, 85mm samyang f1.4 for the sideways shots and the tokina 11-16mm for the wides.

Lot of interresting things here, starting with the photo. But there are bad points too: not good acting enough (it just needs some work and a better directing), fake blood not enough realistic or not enough stylized.

Good choreography too!

But how did you do this? I know you used Trapcode Particular, but which settings? And did you always track everything?

@SondreAlv Well the settings were nothing special. Just bloody red particles being sprayed around. I tracked 3 shots.

@hapkiden I used a plugin for After Effects called Trapcode Particular. Though it was a lot of work in getting it look even ok.

I always look forward to your stuff. Nice job!! Was he meant to be using a sword at the last part because it did look like a metal pole. Wouldn't seem possible for that much blood to gush out if he just killed him with a pole. Nonetheless awesome job.

@8Trigramz Thanks. Yeah, we had a problem with the sword as it flew into the ocean middle in the filming. So we went with a stupid boffer to the end and just tried to hide. :)
