I agree, "motivations" on your website to direct fans to a potential download or purchase or service are totally fine, but it's the "hard sell" before-hand that no longer works. Especially when you're trying to get the attention of the movers and shakers in the industry...

Nobody ever talks about this stuff Brian, and it's such an important point.
I really like to underplay things too but add in little subtle motivations for people to listen or take action on something.
