I have a hard time believing these guys are actually active members of the church. For centuries God's laws have stated that homosexuality is sin... that's not put up to a public vote. Fighting for equal rights in what you believe in is one thing, but in matters of spiritual things, sin is sin... all of which separates us from the presence of God. When I sin, I try to humble myself before God and repent, not justify it. Guys, its time to repent or find another church that accepts homosexuality

For centuries "traditional" creedal based Christians (namely those that stem from Catholicism) have taught that homosexuality is evil and sinful. Just because of traditional creeds and religions have taught that homosexuality in and of itself is "sin" doesn't mean that it is evil or sinful. It's sad how much bigotry and misunderstanding has continued through religious based fear based anti-gay teachings. We need an ancient understanding of scripture not a Medieval one.

Do you really think that if we had the choice we would choose to go through childhood being called a faggot? I used to think that way as a freshman in High School. I was very naieve. I awakened to my same sex orientation (gayness) when I was 12 years old and I was also baptized that same year. I served faithfully through my Aaronic priesthood callings and offices, was endowed, served a mission and came home just as attracted to men (gay) as I ever was. I went through counseling, Evergreen and even some other programs to overcome my same sex orientation. You cannot change what God hath designed.

The Church kicked a bear and now they are reaping their reward. I would have thought a prophet, like the man who called all the members to get behind yes on prop 8 would have had greater foresight, I can not wait for the march on Washington. they should have this guy Clark speak there too he was very inspiring

I'm disturbed about the Church supporting prop 8 as well as the direction the Church has gone on this issue for over 15 years since the Hawaii same sex marriage issue. The There is every evidence in the world that the Proclamation on the Family was a reaction to same sex marriage, etc. Instead of further revelation on the issue the Church dug in its feet and did all in it's power to reject the reality of our stories and create a different story.
