I loved this stuff on WWOS when I was a kid.The Winter Games were in Sapporo in 1972 and NBC covered it then.It was only on TV for some ten hrs.ABC took over of course and the hrs tripled in Innsbruck in 1976.The ratings went thru the roof.

For those of us old enough to remember WWOS, these are the sort of "sports" or "events" that we've blocked out. We immediately remember the great boxing matches,track & field,Olympic qualification events,automobile races,figure skating if you like. Then,unfortunately,there also things like these.

espn classic, it had 4 seasons, then they retired, it didnt get taken off the air, they just decided to stop and go another direction after their contract. they still show it on espn classic every week night.
