Give companies tax incentives to build new buildings with alternative energy capabilities and to convert existing facilities to alternative sources...
The new administration won't pass anything that doesn't help them keep power... and keeping power means more regulations on more sectors of the market. We do need to be able to make these power sources marketable to the general public so that people can choose what kind of energy they want to use - but solar panels are too expensive to install families like ours - otherwise they'd already be on our roof. We could be selling energy back to the TVA. Make these sources more affordable!
Nuclear power is viable and useful, but it doesn't have its downfall, power plants have limited lifetimes and the left over plants will provide future environmental leakage dangers, as well as the fact that it still produces dangerous radioactive waste which is pretty much impossible to dispose of, but with all that said i think power plants are the most logical way to go in order to bridge the gap between the fuels of the future and the fuels of the soon to be past.
The president of France has been running around sounding like a Republican? Does this really surprise you, Rep. Lamar Alexander? I hope not. ´Cause that would mean you know little or nothing about France!!! ´Cause the UMP (Union for a Popular Movement) Mr. Sarkozy is leader of, is the equivalent of the GOP in France!!!
Yes! Almost every foreign leader is centre-right and is in the International Democrat Union. Stephen Harper, Canada; Angela Merkel, Germany; and even Calderone, Mexico isn't part of the IDU but he is in a centre-right international union.
We Conservatives have to find a way to get rid of these self-contradicting (old) leaders men, who knows little or nothing about most of the (new) domestic and international issues. Otherwise David Frum might be right again by saying: GOP = endangered species on the brink of instinction because of the religious rights and aging leaders!!!
We are doing a good job of electing young leaders. Republican congressman and senators on average are significantly younger, as are governors. I think that we need to recruit more socially liberal and fiscally conservative candidates for new england, but we need to recruit more socially conservative candidates for places like Colorado.
We need to recruit more socially liberal and fiscally conservative candidates? This is a HUGE challenge BUT also a wishful thinking, ´cause the Christian-Conservatives and their allies (Rush Limbaugh, Foxnews, etc...) have taken over the GOP and convinced our current aging leaders that "compromising" is evil. It is time we follow the example of Reagan who made clear to these MORONS that they can´t always get whatever they want!!!
I don't think that it is a huge challenge. There are plenty of socially liberal fiscally conservative people (aka classical liberals), particularly in the Northeast and New England.
Rush Limbaugh is a supporter of classical liberals, as is Sean Hannity- he just was discussing them on his radio show.
FoxNews is not a socially conservative station either. Roger Ailes is a Giuliani supporter and Giuliani is not a social conservative.
