@CelticWarrior1971 I fail to see anything wrong with using an opponent's weaknesses against them. You said you have combat training. If your opponent is missing an eye are you going to try and stay on that side? Or be where they can see you?

@FeralKnight: Well, it's only a weakness because men let it be so. In my opinion, it is just an outdated bullshit misplaced gesture of chivalry, and one that thankfully, I have broken free of. I used to subscribe to such idiotic notions, until I got out in the real world and observed that very few people are worthy of such gestures, and upon noticing that, I pretty much changed my view point about it.

@FeralKnight: Also, I have had both REGULAR military hand to hand training, AND civilian martial arts training, and I can safely tell you, that the latter is FAR more effective and to be desired, and in all actuality, where some special forces units get their training, is from civilian contractors who specialize in hand to hand combat.

@CelticWarrior1971 I know that. I'm one of them. I've trained a number of Navy SEALs. And the last thing that any special forces program looks for is brute force like grappling. Even the MCMAP program, widely held to be a joke by the martial arts world, doesn't advocate brute force.

@FeralKnight: Oh I am on the same page with you about technique and precision weighing out over brute force if you've got the training to do so, but most people don't have such training, and in such contests, it's usually the one who is stronger that wins out. Television just a lot of times, shows movies and shows that are supposed to be realistic, but in reality are not, and it is all for the favor of political correctness.

THE MEN did the fighting in Sparta, they were taken from their mothers at age 7 to begin their military training that lasted into their adulthood. The Spartan physical education of girls included running and wrestling as well as discus and javelin throwing; however, it did not include training for combat. So don't insult me and give reference to things you don't know anything, or very little about. Good day to you.
