The idea of X making his mineshaft gives me the same idea just making a floor out of glass.

P.S. Make glass guides to see your project and be protected. Also you can make gold walls but you need 8 gold bars and surround the crafting square like making a chest. As you see it is "expensive" to make them. A few little tips for you, X from a former Minecrafter.

Make a clock when you hit redstone. You put the golden ingots on the top and sides of the crafting table and then you put in a redstone in the middle and that makes a clock. Their not that useful but cool to have. Also you can make a compass if you get lost you make that the same way as the clock except with iron ingots

If you have a ton of resources and u dont want to waste coal or wood, thenuse a bucket of lava. It wastes three iron ingots, but you get infinite fuel for that one use. And golden bars are useful for clocks and powered minecart rails.
