Hope's one of my very fave singers.So emotive,sensual&seductive!The touch of echo-y reverb placed on her voice doesn't distort,but adds an extra dimension. Her voice & melodies can place a listener in another place, slightly other-worldly, like some astral realm, or else the Land of the Sidhe (aka fairy folk. Hey, Hope could be Queen of the fairy folk!), or maybe just a hidden, special place on earth somewhere. I could happily live forever in those beautiful realms Hope conjures up!

I just was in a conversation with people on Youtube about how many people don't know how Hope Sandoval and Mazzy Star are, especially under 30. When I put them on most never heard her music other than "Fade..." Then I got about 5 people saying how they know Mazzy Star and they are under 30. Like I said something untrue. But, the simple fact is most of Mazzy Star's music was really underground and you really had to dig deep to hear them. I have there stuff on vinyl which I'm really proud of.

the album i what i called the break up album...she was involved with Dave the guitar player..who she fell for before the release of the album "She Hangs Brightly', Hope and Dave broke up and it was very bitter break up...so the album So tonight is full of venom..her spewing all these tremendous lyrics about the relationship..the breakup rather...by the time Among My Swan was realeased..it was sort of an aftermath of that relationship.....

At one point u could almost feel everyone at the show including the band kind of just collectively yawn. Not in a bored way, mind you just so mellow. She and Colm from My Bloody Valentine recorded an album in 2001 with some other musicians and released it under the moniker Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions. Hope does vocals and contributes some to the instrumental arrangements, but there's quite a variety of other people who appear on the album.
