@atbirdor lol.i am greek, i ve been to turkey and the taxi drivers there are worse than ours (imagine that!).polite locals my ass, they were just after our fuckin money.and the prices were not reasonable, they were high, and the ugly waiters were charging whatever they wanted.no menus , no prices, no nothing.it wasnt that bad.i had a nice time.but that s the difference.turkey is nice but average.greece is GREAT!get over it.and next time i want true oriental i ll visit egypt, not average turkey.

@atbirdor First of all, I ve been to Turkey (Constantinoupolis) 2 years ago and the taxi drivers were very rude and the city (except the Agia Sofia and some other places) was awful, and Secondly, dont compare the singularly Greek Islands with your Asian coasts!

I remember watching in a documentary that our (greek) ministry of culture changed its moto and logo more times than any other european country during the last decade. This means that we payed for new advertising campaigns for tourism almost every year while Portugal (for example) has saved money using the same campaign for the past 10 years and still hasn't experienced the decline in its tourism that we had. I mean ok these videos are nice but they cost a hell of a lot to us greeks taxpayers.

we took the good parts of greeks in anatolia and combine them with our middle asian turkish culture. result= great.

greece and wester turkey are very similar. once, a greek friend of mine said 'the good part of your country once owned by greeks'. she was right. that's a fact. but also every good part of Mediterranean once owned by turks too. you've heard of turquoise color. it is named after the mediterranean cost, because of us,turks.
