  • No, No, No, Democrats were too moderate.... That's why the moderate democrats lost seats. The progressive caucus grew.

  • @matcotech In my district we have a VERY LIBERAL Democratic Congressman. He voted with Pelosi 98% of the time and he lost by 6% points. It wasn't just the moderates that lost and I am glad to say my distict was part of the Republican pickups.

  • @DavyCrockettFan1 then thats sad, im pretty much in the middle political wise, but for people to be sucked into the " Obama/Pelosi havent done anything " movement and to them put the people who messed up the country in the first place back into office is crazy.

  • @dsjj251 Let me ask you a question. Who had controll of both chambers of Congress in 2007. The Democrats. And when did the economy really take a bad turn ? The answer to that is in Bush's last two years in office. Also, let's say by 2012 there is a depression. Who would you blame ? Obama or the Republican House ?

  • @DavyCrockettFan1 2007 is the year the economy started to tank, true, but it is not the year that the policies that tanked the economy where introduced

the Bush Housing acts that cause the fore closer scare where introduced in 2005 and 2003, His tax cuts were introduced in 2001 and 2003, Republicans controlled both houses during every year i named .

and for your question, it depends on who deserves more blame, its a question you cant just answer right now.

  • @DavyCrockettFan1 "did not harm our Economy " .......are you serious ?

i used the word tanked because it shows a negative shift, Harm has a different definition.

Giving the rich tax cuts didnt work like it did in the 80's and 90's instead of adding many jobs, they added a few and kept the status quo. most companys have a limit on works ( the name of this is escaping me at the moments ) when people lose money, these new workers are the first to go, so yes the Tax Cutsdid help tank the economy.

  • @DavyCrockettFan1 between the 80's and 90's we had great growth, and companies over highered workers when they were not needed, so this down trend in the late 2000's actually just regulated the overhighering that happened( there is a technical name for this, i just cant remember it right now).

and to be honest that may be a good thing, if the economy tanked 2 or 3 years later in 2010 or 11 instead of 2007, it could have been way worse.

  • @dsjj251 Sorry I could not reply sooner, but I had a strict deadline to meet at work. Anyway, how do you figure that it could have been worse in 2010 or 11 vs. 2007 ? It seems to me that that is just a guess.

  • @DavyCrockettFan1 i understand.

and what I mean is that the over-highering in the 2000's would have continued and it would have meant that more people would have been laid off at one time.
