People should just stop criticizing because they're both different guitarists with different styles. As a guitar teacher, i think that it's safe to say that although Padge is very talented, Gates is clearly the more technically impressive guitarist. Also, a better example for Gates would have been the solo for "Scream", "Afterlife", or "Second Heartbeat".

Synyster is a better guitarist. And I'm a maaaaaaaasssssssive bullet fan! Padge's solo's don't flow very well, they're just lots of different techniques thrown into one solo, every single time ;___; Synyster's solo's flow well, and there's not about 20 million different things going on within the solo, making his solo's easier to listen to, making him in general a better guitarist. i listen to both bands and for speed it's padge and for more melodic solos syn, and i think bullet don't seem to work much on their solos, they seem to fill the song out but avegened solos are (in some cases) the highlight of their songs

Padge can't even play his own solos live, and he taps. Syn rarely taps and can play everything he does in the studio live. Even Afterlife And MIA which, to me, are his best. I think Syn is better but i think Padge might be better after listening to the solo to "Alone" off there new album.
