this is a gospel singer, in my opion singing metal and rock. he does an amazing job. as far as people not liking it goes, at the end of the day, part of a cover version, is making it your own, which they do. on the other hand, could the lead singer do a cover version of a living colour song and perform it the same?

The meaning of the song is as confused as everybody is on the topic, but it still sounds AWESOME. It's about the Katrina Hurricane incident and nothing being done in time. The confusion is when people thing that federal government can move into a state just at a whim. But it's the responsibility of the state governor first to do something. It was a Democrat state at the time.

First off, I love Living Colour's music and generally support it. However, I'm dumbfounded by their interpretation of AC/DC's Back in Black. Mainly when the singer goes high-pitched and it sounds more like a mimicry of Brian Johnson's singing--dare I say mockery of his voice. And overall, this cover doesn't sound right to me.

Which leads me to my question: Why not play to Living Colour's strengths instead of trying to mimic another band exactly? It's a cover, not a throw-back impersonation gig.
