We've since moved on to headset mics. This was back when I was a freshman in college.
As for the dancing and singing, we did it constantly all semester, so by the time the show rolled around we knew where to breath and when to sing our lungs out. :)
Can't say it was easy, or terribly pretty all the time, but it was too much fun to pass up a chance to do it again.
I think this is very cute, but there is a reason most choirs don't dance. You'll notice that the best sound quality is while they're all facing forward. They sound fine always, but I know that if my choir was turning away from the mics that much we'd be inaudible. Also singing while dancing is hard because of breath support. I know that I run out of breath very easily and with that dancing I wouldn't have enough voice to sing.
im against chicks in this song or musical unless its where they should be but i like this

I LOVE this arrangement and choreography! I am thinking about using this same arrangement with my show choir this spring :-).

wow that's awesome...I love Newsies it's so fun to get to sing in choir, but we didn't get to dress up or dance :( lucky...
