  • I'd have loved to have seen him fly. I was 4 when he died.

  • Leo designed and built the lazer 200!!! he was from sussex NJ and I miss seeing him fly

  • The laser 200 is the child of the Stephens Akro. The Stephens Akro had structural problems and also some quirky handling characteristics, so Leo basically redesigned the Stephens Akro to the point that less then 10% of the original design was left. Leo was the father of the Laser 200 and in many ways the Zivko Edge 540 series.

  • Without Leo and the Laser chances are we wouldnt have the Edge 540. RIP Leo, you are sorely missed...

  • I think the announcer was at an airshow i was at the other day. He said he had done them around the country.

  • I agree Leo was a master. I have a 1/4 scale and a 33% scale Laser 200. Just imagine if he had todays technology how good he would have been. Would love to have seen him finish and fly the Shark, that thing is just awesome.

  • Leo was a master that should have lived longer. A large RC version of his Shark has flown recently...beyond weird! Wonder what how he would have liked a Sukhoi 26?

  • I saw Leo fly a Sukhoi 26 at Sussex in maybe '92. I recall that the roll rate was mind blowing. I never heard any commentary from him about that flight, but looked right at home :)
