I don't get people who work out to that extent. They end up with fast metabolisms due to all the muscle they have and, as a result, live shorter lives. Oxidisation occurs at a more rapid rate and, due to atrophy, it all starts to sag as it goes unused and testosterone levels fall.
I can understand wanting to be strong but surely flexibility and cardiovascular performance are worth far more in the long run?

the name of an exercise does matter , there are alot of people just learning to lift weights and the proper technique and name of a lift should matter, there are also alot of young people tring this for the first time, so it needs to be right
High bar position, torso upright, back stays tight, yep looks good to me. Can't tell the depth from that angle. For oly, the depth/bottom should be where the athlete catches a clean.

I'm sorry but you are wrong. Olympic means ass to grass. Its called Olympic because when you do Olympic lifts you have to hit ATG. For instance, if you were to do Snatches and didn't hit ass to grass, you would be lifting the bar too high which means you are doing them wrong. Also on Clean and Jerks. Of course there are power cleans, but that's not a real Olympic lift. Watch Olympic lifters. ALL of them hit ass to grass EVEN when they train. Regardless, good work JH.

@KingAttle come to a rest and rounding the lower lumbar with 405 lbs on your shoulders. If one is to do boxes the back is supposed to stay tight. The same effect can be had by pausing at the bottom and releasing tension and starting over. Before YOU comment, look up some UP TO DATE training protocols based on physiology and anatomy, not roided out techniques of yesteryear...then YOU can shut the fuck up! I train with some of the best on the planet. You fucking child. Go do some homework!

The smith machine is good for calve raises. That's about it. No multi joint exercise in it ever for my clients and for the few trainers out there that know physiology. Have you ever even studied this stuff besides reading Flex or Muscle Mag? And yes I know WAAAY more about this stuff than you obviously

@MerkabaStar its not a total relaxation of the posterior chain you moron...its seperates the eccentric and concentric part of the exercises relaxing the hams and glutes eliminating the stretch reflex you create on the way down IN ORDER to work on being explosive from the bottom position...an incredible way to increase speed and work on "coming out of the hole" in a standard squat...PS ~ is said the Smith is good for exercises its NOT intended for...read more clearly....

I'm sorry but you are wrong. Olympic means ass to grass. Its called Olympic because when you do Olympic lifts you have to hit ATG. For instance, if you were to do Snatches and didn't hit ass to grass, you would be lifting the bar too high which means you are doing them wrong. Also on Clean and Jerks. Of course there are power cleans, but that's not a real Olympic lift. Watch Olympic lifters. ALL of them hit ass to grass EVEN when they train. Regardless, good work JH.

This can be considered an oly squat because if u look at some of the heavy weights who lack flexibility they can't truly go atg either but i think when he is squatting here he is going as low as he can, i'd say he is doing oly squats here

I'm sorry but that's not true. I just watched the vid again, He's hitting parrell, that's not an Olympic squat. You must break parrell at least for someone to briefly consider this an Oly squat. But he doesn't. He hits parrell and goes up. It's not an oly Squat. Of course, I could care less. But if we're gonna get technical, this is not an oly squat.

great form, these guys who say go below paralel obviously dont know wot it can do to your knees and it isnt neccersery if you use enough wieght. the only differance to my own squats is i try to go down slower and not rest on the box before pushing back up, its all down to personal prefference nobody can say there form is perfect because everybody has a differant opinion of 'perfect', i hate it when guys argue over this!

steroids wont magically make you're bench go up, espically if you're still at that point. You probably need some pointers on your form, need to adjust your diet, and probably boost your intensity. You don't need steroids to get stronger
