Great instrument, man. Is it possible for someone to create his own sound effects in the 61 keyboard? I mean, sound effects like those existing on Vangelis' music (mostly), like the effects of the ''spiral'' exerpt, the ''antarctica'' and the ''deliverance''. Also, other sounds like flute, harp, horn, bell, maybe even sounds like waterdrops, air.. I mean mostly ''physical'', ''nature'' sound effects, and electronical sound effects like electrical current, etc.
@nanchuanwushu1 I think it's better to have a full arsenal of software (like I do)... you can do a LOT with a good keboard workstation/synthesizer, but with the same amount of $ spent on a keyboard, you can buy (or download by torrents) tons of software fr everything!
@kreg001 Yes, and the 76 as well... as with ANY other line of keyboards, if it's the same model, it only changes the amount of Keys, but not sound quality :)
2 Questions... why does your board seem to bounce so much? is it the stand? Camera on the speaker?
And can you adjust the amount of reverb on the drums? Just my taste, but I think those kind of drums for a dramatic film score sound 'bigger' with more reverb.
Anyway, you have a lot of cool vids and I'm looking at a few different keyboards/workstations trying to decide which one I like best in my price range. So far it's between the M50, Roland Juno G, or Yamaha M06.
I used the camera on my Macbook Pro... at the time of these recording I had a normal desk and it wasnt very sturdy so anytime I played hard the laptop's screen would move...
There are 5 FX inserts + plus the Master FX... I decided to limit the amount of reverb because this was going directly to youtube, and too much reverb with the low quality compression sounds ugly and doenst cut very well
I suppose it would depend on how you encode your videos. Certainly there are many Youtube videos with at least mp3 sound quality if not near CD quality, including clips from actual movies or other professionally recorded music. Anyway, I don't mean to belabor that point.
Yeah, I got other videos with very good quality, this was one of my first, so it was kind of an experiment still..
I've never played the Juno-G, but it doesnt really get my attention, although I had a Fantom X and I regret selling it... The MO6 is good, but liked more the M50... Maybe if I get out of the studio and start playing keys I'll get the latest Motif
It comes with a editing software and a "plug-in" software to operate the M50 as if it was a plugin VST... but as I mentioned above, I didnt like that, I preffered to connect the M50 directly to my interface...
The "plugin" has the advantage of midi, so you can reorganize, quantize, edit and change sounds more easily... put I'm good recording, so most of the time I know what I'll record...
you should try Cubase, or Logic if you have a Mac!
Lol thanks guys for all your help. I bought the M50 about a month ago. The keyboard is very user-friendly but I must say, I don't like the software it comes with. I have to use Fruity again. -_-
Does it work with any other DAW? like Pro Tools, Cubase, Sonar, FL Studio? It works exactly like "VST?"
Hi WinterWineStudio...urm..can I use this M50 for live Performances? especially when I'm using a lot of sound set in a song...let say, orchestra sets [strings,brass,percussions..], [electro sound set], [World sound set]...all 3 in a song...
So can I switch the sound easily on M50? [with one click on it].
I'm going to buy a workstation on Monday, and I can't decide between the Korg M50 and the Roland Juno Stage. Although I'm more towards the M50, could I have anyones opinion on which one to buy?
Juno Stage has Awsome Ac Piano sounds... M50 are..mmmm
M50 has "usable" Organ sounds for LIVE, Juno's organs are ok...
But i would say... Juno Stage for live use (great pianos and keyboard sounds, and a lot os usable sounds, especially if you play covers, you may find very useful sounds)
Korg M50 for the studio, it has Plug In ability, USB input, good sounds overall, where it lacks can easily be made up on software
well... Korg is not better, it just comes down to personal taste... If Jordan Rudess uses Korg, thats just what he likes... I once saw a video of Jordan Playing on a V-Synth XT and a Fantom G8... I acctually sold this M50... I really miss my Fantom X
well, have you ever heard of the Korg Oasys? i think not. case and point. roland is ok, and maybe jordan played one, but theres a reason that his master controller and main keyboard/best friend is a Korg Oasys. personal taste... psht
Korg Oasys, of course I've heard about the OASYS, I've heard it and played it... You think not?... now I know you're just eom kind of stupid Korg/Jordan Fan... btw you're only talkinh about Jordan Rudess, a great keyboard player but not the ONLY one in the world:)
im sorry. i totally went overboard. i dont think hes the only great player, and korg is not the best, EXCEPT the oasys, which ive played too. it does all depend on taste, and i would like to formally apologize for being an ass...
DO you have any idea where I could get the side plastic piece on the board caude mine is destryed.. :( great videos you did man.. congrats.. and thanks for them..
No aftertouch... that sucks... but with the joystick, the 2 SW buttons, and an expression and swith pedal, you can program it to be very expressive, especially the joystick!
Thanks. Yeah Im using my Macbook Pro for the video thats why it moves if I'm too wild... about the sound... well I dont know if it's me or the keyboard, check out my other vids and decide 4 urself:) ....but the M50 is shure very inspiring. BTW compared to most M50 videos here, my audio is recorded directly from my firewire interface.
@Soler0 Sound of Feel? KORG Piano sounds suck!... the M50, M3 and Triton Extreme at least do a good job for live band performance

The software works on basically every DAW, but I personally prefer to just have my 1/4 outs of the M50 go into my Interface like normal audio.
Yes, it has a huge, almost limitless performance mode
