  • I am shaving my head tomorrow as a fundraiser with some friends and i was getting so nervous about not having hair but now im on my way to buy more scarves and can't wait to try these out! Thanks so much for the awesome tips!

  • Ester, I just have to say thank you for doing this tutorial. My mom is going through chemo & is just beginning to lose her hair. We were going to just do the normal bandana style, not really knowing that there were other options. These styles are SO cute & really do look fashionable, not just like she's hiding her "baldness". I'm so excited to try these with her & so is she. Thanks for giving a lot of beauty back to all of the sweet ladies already dealing with so much.

  • By the way I think you should make more videos :)

  • i recently shaved my hair all off! I was sick of it! But now I don't know what ppl will think! No I dont have cancer but this was very enlightening to me! How strong you women are in overcoming such a terrible diagnosis! I will pray for your recovery! I mean that! I just don't want ppl feeling sorry for me because they will automaticly assume I'm going through chemo! More power to you ladies, what a great video!

  • :) you look gorgeous! (even without the scarves and hair). You have a bautiful face!

  • I just have to say Thank You for posting your video! My friend is going "Bald for Bucks" for cancer research and we were interested in learning how to tie head scarves, and we came across your "how to" and thought you were not only informative but hilarious :) Please post more how to's in the future!!

  • Hi Esther....finally I've found you! I was looking for a how to video to know how to wear all these headscarfs that I have at home. I've almost lost all my hair because of the cancer and I'm bored wearing them everyday the same way.

What you are doing is very helpful for everyone and I hope you're doing fine right now.

Sorry for my english (I'm italian)...I hope the brain surgery I had didn't take away all my languages lessons!!:)

    Keep us posted! ciao

  • You are beautiful

  • Oh my gosh! This is so helpful! I'm 25 years old and currently going through Chemo which is, might I say, just delightful. (I assume you sense the sarcasm...) With my hair falling out, I've bought a few wigs but those get so expensive and hot. Needless to say, I'm resorting to scarves. Thank you so much for uploading this video!! You're such an inspiration!! God bless!!

  • thankyou so much, I have just started losing my hair and it has been a big concern for me. After seeing your video and seeing how cool the headscarfs look Im not worrying so much

  • You have some great ideas, thank you so much for sharing.

  • You are funny, and I felt much better after watching your video. Thank you and I'm lucky to have stumbled on this video. You made me feel better today, since I've been in self - pity today due to lack of hair. July 14, 2011, i was diagnosed with breast cancer, last friday i shaved my head. Yesterday I went it to work with a scarf and felt really self conscious. i'm going to post this to my favorites so i can watch this again when i need some inspiration. Hope you are living life to it's fullest.

I have been non-stop crying since she sent the pics of the hair balls yesterday. Your video is truly inspirational and uplifting to me, as I am sure it was to my sister. Thank you for being so brave and forthright to help sooooo many who will view this. God Bless, and continued remission! Jamie

Your bubbliness and joy for life made me giggle & smile on a pretty tough morning! Glad you are living your life free of cancer. I cannot wait to get on the other side as well of this. Check out my web site sometime: jimmersgal.blogspot.com. Thank you for sharing! You are a rock star! ciao, bella!

  • You are hilarious (the cute kind)! Not having hair means you have more room to be creative and you are! And might I add that you look good in bald!

  • To everyone who has commented: thank you all so much for the kind words. I originally did this video as a way to give back to anyone who might be going through a similar experience to my own but it turns out I've gained so much from all of the loving and supportive comments you've left. This June has been my one year anniversary of being cancer free but still daily I think of my experience with cancer and now keep each of you in my thoughts. I'm sending strength, courage, and joy your way!

  • Hi Esther,

  • This was the best. I'd been searching for good tips on scarves. Almost every site was selling scarves or using a stlye I didn't have. Thanks so much!

  • Thank you so much sweetie. I have stage 2 breast cancer and my hair is now coming out in GIANT clumps. I was always defined by my looks and hair now I have to look within. I want to thank you for your positive, young spirit. I will try the scarves for sure and I hope your treatment was a success so you can continue on with your LONG, happy life.

Love, Lisa age a VERY young 47

  • First off, how adorable are you! Love your energy! Thank you! I, too , have stage 3 breast cancer. I prefer scarves and hats. Not a wig person. So to watch your suggestions was most helpful! I've been playing around to and I'm loving all the looks. I feel very comfortable going out in my scarves and hats with my big girl earrings. Some say I've taken 15 years off in my looks. We will get on the other of this. You are a rock start! Beautiful Lady!

  • I have been diagnosed with alopecia areata and seeing how beautiful you look in those scarves makes me excited to try them out. Thank you so much :) Keep well!

  • you are rockin that scarf.best of luck to you .thanks

  • OMG Esther, you are amazing. I have bone cancer and this is my second time around and I'm rockin scarfs this time instead of wigs. I love your spirit, your great! Love you, Lisa

  • Very nice tip! I just shaved my head yesterday for St. Baldrick's foundation to find a cure for kids' cancer and I just bought some scarves with no idea how to tie them to keep my head covered and warm over the summer... one thing is: it's quite breezy with no hair! I'll rock out the head scarf this spring and summer!

  • Thank you for your nice tips. You are so pretty and inspiring. I'll be thinking about you and how brave you are when I'll do my first head scvarf.

  • This is great. You are so beautiful, really. I hope you are fine.

  • Thankyou, you are really pretty, i was so ansious, and sad, trying to look how to cover my head, because i start quimo on wednesday, and i know soon i am going to need it... but you make it look soo easy, and fun, and it really looks very good, that now i am less sad about my hair.... i shouldn't never be that ansious!!!! that should be the less of my worryyes i know....

  • wouw girl. your wonderfull. a beauty. thank you :)

  • Love this !! :)

  • That was great. Love the headscarf look (I have fuzzy hair that rarely behaves!), it's very good for those days when we don't want to deal with our hair. Just like guys & hats!!

    Keep up the good work!

  • I really enjoyed your video! I use to use a triangle shawl to wrap my hair. i really liked your T-shirt idea, very creative : )

  • you are so awesome! Your personality is so vibrant and contagious! Thanks so much for sharing this video!

  • Thank you! You're an inspiration! I'm going through chemo for breast cancer- I've lost my hair too... Thanks for posting the video- I'm going to go alter some t-shirts!!!

  • You are so beautiful and awesome, Ester! You see, I'm a Muslim and I cover my hair so it's not just cancer patients that cover their hair! :P :) I agree, that as a person that recently started wearing a headscarf (for religious reasons), not having to worry about styling or worrying about hair IS liberating! Plus, my outfits match better with my version of "hair"! :D The T-shirt idea is pretty neat! Rock on, gal!!! :D <3

  • Ester you are a beautiful young woman and I hope you are doing well!! I am so encouraged by your humor and wit!!! Tomorrow my siblings and I are shaving my mom's head because it is starting to fall out from the chemo. That is her way of "being in control", or as you would say "becoming liberated"!!! I am researching ways to tie scarves for her, and absolutely loved your video! I'm going to test it out on her tomorrow! Best wishes!!

  • Hi Ester!

I LOVED your video! You have such a fantastic personality and sense of humour...you had me giggling :) You also had so me GREAT ideas...and I would never had thought to use a t-shirt! Thanks so much for the tips, inspiration and entertainment. Have you ever thought of going into TV? You have a great personality for it! I'll be praying for you! Good luck!

  • I just wanted to say you are awsome and you rock.. Keep your wonderful spirit and great smile.

  • Great video!!!

  • Thanks for the video Esther. I'm 8 days into chemo so I know my hair will be disappearing soon. I'm pretty nervous about tying scarves but your video will help. Now, if only the hair on my legs would fall out and stay permanently gone! Good luck to you!

  • Great video and you look gorgeous! My mom just lost her hair from cancer treatment and we have been failing miserably at the headscarf thing. The T-shirt scarf is genius! And, you have a beautiful attitude that comes through the video. All the best in your fight! And, THANK YOU!!!

  • You are definitely looking so dang good! <3 your video, looking forward to another one by you!

  • You are adorable! Thanks for the video. It really helped. Take care.

  • You are a geneious! I have no hair due to Alopecia Univarlis, so no hair on the head or body. Im gonna get some t-shirts to try it.

Big hugs from another liberated girl.

    !

    PS: You look awesome

  • Esther, great video, fantastic tips, thank you so much. Hope you're doing well x

  • You look cool with the headscarf.

But I hope you get your hair back soon!

    Wish you much strength.
