I am shaving my head tomorrow as a fundraiser with some friends and i was getting so nervous about not having hair but now im on my way to buy more scarves and can't wait to try these out! Thanks so much for the awesome tips!
Ester, I just have to say thank you for doing this tutorial. My mom is going through chemo & is just beginning to lose her hair. We were going to just do the normal bandana style, not really knowing that there were other options. These styles are SO cute & really do look fashionable, not just like she's hiding her "baldness". I'm so excited to try these with her & so is she. Thanks for giving a lot of beauty back to all of the sweet ladies already dealing with so much.
i have Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and i am just starting losing my hair!!! :( Thanks so much for this video for the tips and for the strength you gave me with this video!!!! Very glad to hear you are doing well!!!!

I have lots of scarves and hats to play with now, but your video helped quite a bit on how to do the how to on scarves. You sound so full of energy , and seem to have a positive outlook on your condition of having no hair for now...so do I. Thank you for displaying such positive vibes!
Because of you and another lady on here, I have been inspired. I went out today and bought scarves, hoops and makeup to make perfect false eyebrows. Chemo begins tomorrow.

Hi Esther....finally I've found you! I was looking for a how to video to know how to wear all these headscarfs that I have at home. I've almost lost all my hair because of the cancer and I'm bored wearing them everyday the same way.
What you are doing is very helpful for everyone and I hope you're doing fine right now.
Sorry for my english (I'm italian)...I hope the brain surgery I had didn't take away all my languages lessons!!:)
Oh my gosh! This is so helpful! I'm 25 years old and currently going through Chemo which is, might I say, just delightful. (I assume you sense the sarcasm...) With my hair falling out, I've bought a few wigs but those get so expensive and hot. Needless to say, I'm resorting to scarves. Thank you so much for uploading this video!! You're such an inspiration!! God bless!!
thankyou so much, I have just started losing my hair and it has been a big concern for me. After seeing your video and seeing how cool the headscarfs look Im not worrying so much
You are funny, and I felt much better after watching your video. Thank you and I'm lucky to have stumbled on this video. You made me feel better today, since I've been in self - pity today due to lack of hair. July 14, 2011, i was diagnosed with breast cancer, last friday i shaved my head. Yesterday I went it to work with a scarf and felt really self conscious. i'm going to post this to my favorites so i can watch this again when i need some inspiration. Hope you are living life to it's fullest.

Hi Esther! My niece, missytgould1, who recently posted here, posted this link to your video on my sister's cancer site sponsored by the hospital. I'm hundreds of miles away, and can't be there. I have been non-stop crying since she sent the pics of the hair balls yesterday. Your video is truly inspirational and uplifting to me, as I am sure it was to my sister. Thank you for being so brave and forthright to help sooooo many who will view this. God Bless, and continued remission! Jamie

I've enjoyed your video a couple times now. You remind me of me -- except that I'm 51 years young with breast cancer still going through chemo. Your bubbliness and joy for life made me giggle & smile on a pretty tough morning! Glad you are living your life free of cancer. I cannot wait to get on the other side as well of this. Check out my web site sometime: jimmersgal.blogspot.com. Thank you for sharing! You are a rock star! ciao, bella!
To everyone who has commented: thank you all so much for the kind words. I originally did this video as a way to give back to anyone who might be going through a similar experience to my own but it turns out I've gained so much from all of the loving and supportive comments you've left. This June has been my one year anniversary of being cancer free but still daily I think of my experience with cancer and now keep each of you in my thoughts. I'm sending strength, courage, and joy your way!
I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I'm at the end of my radio treatment. Your video was a big inspiration. I use all your ideas and now I'm famous in the hospital, here in Portugal for being the most elegant patient in the floor . Everybody compliments my head scarfs , I know it is jut a detail but it makes me feel pretty and healthier . thank you for taking the time. I hope you are doing well . kisses from Lisbon
@sterfry05 - we were cruzin thru the internet tryin to get some ideas on scarves and hoodie scarves and reaLIzed that we ddnt really no how 2 tie em.... so we youtubed and found ur video.... thx so much for sharin.... it has helped and tho i have hair i am soooooooooooooooo inspired to wear one manana! ;) congrats on ur healing!
Ester...did I ever need you this AM! Shaved my head yesterday after losing my long hair in clumps for 3 days. (Lymphoma as well) Desperately need scarf tips! Have a wig but can't always wear it. Absolutely loved you video. Thanks for doing this.
Ester, you are my guru. I have never been an hat or scarf kind of person, since losing my hair to chemo I have had to learn a new skill set. Your video is the best. I refer to it many mornings.Thank you so much for sharing. You are brave and beautiful! I hope things are going well for you! Bright blessings. Susan
I am too going through chemo and feel a positive attitude and sense of humour helps us through this journey. Don't lose your upbeat and positive personality - it will get you through this in no time. God Bless you!
Hi Esther, I had breast cancer and first saw your video just after I was diagnosed. I give you full credit for my positive outlook through surgery and chemo. My family and all of my good friends have now seen your video and we consider you a superhero!! Thanks for sharing your tips, beauty, sense of humor, and your compassionate demeanor. I live in Tomball, Tx near Houston and would love to give you a ride on one of our horses if you're ever over this way. Sandy Rush
@sandyrush1 Sandy, thank you so much your comments. I'm currently living in Dallas now and if I ever venture down to Houston I will most certainly take you up on that horse riding adventure! I hope you're doing well and living a full and fantastic life!
Thank you so much sweetie. I have stage 2 breast cancer and my hair is now coming out in GIANT clumps. I was always defined by my looks and hair now I have to look within. I want to thank you for your positive, young spirit. I will try the scarves for sure and I hope your treatment was a success so you can continue on with your LONG, happy life.
First off, how adorable are you! Love your energy! Thank you! I, too , have stage 3 breast cancer. I prefer scarves and hats. Not a wig person. So to watch your suggestions was most helpful! I've been playing around to and I'm loving all the looks. I feel very comfortable going out in my scarves and hats with my big girl earrings. Some say I've taken 15 years off in my looks. We will get on the other of this. You are a rock start! Beautiful Lady!
I have been diagnosed with alopecia areata and seeing how beautiful you look in those scarves makes me excited to try them out. Thank you so much :) Keep well!
OMG Esther, you are amazing. I have bone cancer and this is my second time around and I'm rockin scarfs this time instead of wigs. I love your spirit, your great! Love you, Lisa
Very nice tip! I just shaved my head yesterday for St. Baldrick's foundation to find a cure for kids' cancer and I just bought some scarves with no idea how to tie them to keep my head covered and warm over the summer... one thing is: it's quite breezy with no hair! I'll rock out the head scarf this spring and summer!
Thankyou, you are really pretty, i was so ansious, and sad, trying to look how to cover my head, because i start quimo on wednesday, and i know soon i am going to need it... but you make it look soo easy, and fun, and it really looks very good, that now i am less sad about my hair.... i shouldn't never be that ansious!!!! that should be the less of my worryyes i know....
That was great. Love the headscarf look (I have fuzzy hair that rarely behaves!), it's very good for those days when we don't want to deal with our hair. Just like guys & hats!!
Thank you! You're an inspiration! I'm going through chemo for breast cancer- I've lost my hair too... Thanks for posting the video- I'm going to go alter some t-shirts!!!
You are so beautiful and awesome, Ester! You see, I'm a Muslim and I cover my hair so it's not just cancer patients that cover their hair! :P :) I agree, that as a person that recently started wearing a headscarf (for religious reasons), not having to worry about styling or worrying about hair IS liberating! Plus, my outfits match better with my version of "hair"! :D The T-shirt idea is pretty neat! Rock on, gal!!! :D <3
Ester you are a beautiful young woman and I hope you are doing well!! I am so encouraged by your humor and wit!!! Tomorrow my siblings and I are shaving my mom's head because it is starting to fall out from the chemo. That is her way of "being in control", or as you would say "becoming liberated"!!! I am researching ways to tie scarves for her, and absolutely loved your video! I'm going to test it out on her tomorrow! Best wishes!!
I LOVED your video! You have such a fantastic personality and sense of humour...you had me giggling :) You also had so me GREAT ideas...and I would never had thought to use a t-shirt! Thanks so much for the tips, inspiration and entertainment. Have you ever thought of going into TV? You have a great personality for it! I'll be praying for you! Good luck!
Thanks for the video Esther. I'm 8 days into chemo so I know my hair will be disappearing soon. I'm pretty nervous about tying scarves but your video will help. Now, if only the hair on my legs would fall out and stay permanently gone! Good luck to you!
Great video and you look gorgeous! My mom just lost her hair from cancer treatment and we have been failing miserably at the headscarf thing. The T-shirt scarf is genius! And, you have a beautiful attitude that comes through the video. All the best in your fight! And, THANK YOU!!!
I got diagnosed with breast cancer in March and going to chemo in May. Your video really perked me up! Thanks for sharing, it's really good stuff & keep up the good humour. Get well soon :)
I am shaving my head tomorrow as a fundraiser with some friends and i was getting so nervous about not having hair but now im on my way to buy more scarves and can't wait to try these out! Thanks so much for the awesome tips!

I refer to it many mornings.Thank you so much for sharing. You are brave and beautiful! I hope things are going well for you! Bright blessings. Susan

My family and all of my good friends have now seen your video and we consider you a superhero!! Thanks for sharing your tips, beauty, sense of humor, and your compassionate demeanor. I live in Tomball, Tx near Houston and would love to give you a ride on one of our horses if you're ever over this way. Sandy Rush

That was great. Love the headscarf look (I have fuzzy hair that rarely behaves!), it's very good for those days when we don't want to deal with our hair. Just like guys & hats!!
Keep up the good work!
