I am so amazed at how uneducated so many viewers are. This woman had her birth in a state of the art water birthing facility. Babies can swim at birth and do fine underwater until the cord is cut..
I rated it mo stars because she left the baby in the water and didn't bring it out. How was the baby sopose to breath underwater for that long. She didn't even touch it just left it there in the water
wow you all need to do some reading and research! sheesh! she clearly has a medical condition-and a baby will not breathe on it's own until it's face is exposed to air. the mother/placenta are breathing FOR it! leaving the baby underwater is theraputic to the child, versus yanking them straight out. patting the chest is normal as well, helps to expel mucus. READ PEOPLE, READ.
I think perhaps her legs don't work, which is why she was lifted out of the water like that in the chair thing... but it is beyond me why she would wear underpants?!\
and i have to agree, it is a little bit long for the baby to be underwater for... did you notice that the nurses were patting the baby's back?
OMG! them having the baby underwater that long, made a really nervous.. if that were me i would want my baby, up & in my arms instead of flouting around in the water.. *Gasp*
This is NOT in Sweden... Trust me, I'm swedish, and unfortunately there are no hospitals or clinics in Sweden that allow waterbirths. If you want one, you have to have it at home. That's what I'll do when the time comes.
Let's get a few things straight, here: Waterbirths are considered perhaps the most comfortable and best way to deliver your child. The baby begins breathing when it feels the air on its face and gets all its oxygen from the umbilical cord so it's ok, and perhaps an easier transition, for the baby to be underwater at first. We all were created in a fluid-filled environment, remember? This is NOT a factory or nuclear plant, haha. It's likely part of a hospital.
That's a place meant for women to give birth! See the chair she's sitting in? Israelkate is correct! Other countries aren't as terrified of birth as we Americans are. I LOVE how that chair brings her up out of the water!! Way cool!
wow. seriously, she couldn't get out of the tub on her own? I've done that twice, never needed some kind of crazy chair lift to get me to the bed!!! Ha!
Ok so this is not in a nuclear plant lol Its most likely one of the hi-tech birthing suites used in some european countries- i think this one is in sweden. Its deigned for maximum comfort for mum and top of the line technology for baby if something were to go wrong, It does look very institutional though..not somewhere id want to give birth!

It made me really uncomfortable that the baby was underwater so long.
I know the baby was "created" in a fluid filled sack, but idk, that was just ... wrong.
