Oh bless you lass for posting your video. It was more or less a nightly ritual with mw and my Dobs. Of course most of the time I lost! I am writing this with tears in my eyes as my last boy passed away last November. I hope you have many years of play bites, scratches and fun. XX

oh, that video reminds me when i played with my dobermann, always my parents said that we play to rude, those dogs are so smart (mine can open doors...) and very loyal to its owner.

cried when i saw this brought back memories of my late belovered dobie stan we used to play, he was a baby and excellent with children it angers me when people see them as aggresive, some maybe but treated right they are your best pal and would lay sown their life for you, i have agreyhound at present who is great but i still miss my stan.

Yes you do need to do something about it..

It is normal but must be quashed..

You must asert yourself as the dominant pack leader

(sounding very cesar milan here!-oh and get his the dog whisperer dvd) mainly holding the mouth and pushing the dog to the ground like a mama dog would do if the pup had been bad... do this early because an out of control big dobe isnt easy to hold down..

calm assertive domination is the only way with dobes!!

There are alot of ways of dealing with that kind of aggression.

1- remove the dog from the room immediately

2- pin the dog to the floor by neck

(like an adult dog would do to it)

and wait for submission to be shown.

It is a bit of tough love.

Dobermann are a great breed to own although time devoted to obedience training for a large breed is essential. We spend all day together and training is constant and repeated, which a dobie truly enjoys.

Even though she is a puppy the world has bigger expectations for big dogs. So she has to be gentle and well behaved in public. Playtime is fun & time spent with your dobie is never wasted. Be good to you friend and you will be rewarded :)
