the really funny thing is :: The guy playing the washboard plate..... Is nearly in every zydeco film I've seen? This guy must be the Buddy Rich of the washboard......?
I think the guy playing the tabasco bass is one of the Nevlille brothers (Or cousins......saw all of them when I was stationed to Barksdale AFB......back then.)
This is serious zydeco ass kicking..... I defy you to find a tune where he wasn't good.
Omg, I was like 8yrs old in 89', to look back and see my daddy and my parrin (godfather) in there prime, it brings back childhood memories. Here it is 2011, Lee Allen Zeno (Tabasco bass) are still playing together, Thick as Thieves. Parrin, thanks for taking care of my daddy all these years, and Daddy, thanks for taking care of my Parrin all these years** I love Y'all :)
@SluggerOtoole83 I thought I was the only guy who bought Masked and Anonymous!!! I like Los Lobos too and maybe they were doing this arrangement as a tribute?! Long Live Buckwheat Zydeco!!!
I saw Buckwheat around 1991 at the tiny little Palamino Club in North Hollywood. The band had little room between them. We were 5 feet in front of them. It was one of the funnest, happiest nights ever.
Nothing like the Zydeco. Believe it or not, this is a Bob Dylan song from '63 or so. If you have never been to a Zydeco dance, you are missing some fun. Peace:)

He does it better than Dylan did.

This song originally came from Dylan's 1973's LP "Planet Waves". Both versions differ yet both are GREAT! Long live the music of BZ!

If you listen to the Dylan version carefully you will hear that he DOES use an accordion but uses his trademark harmonica to finish.

Great cover. Song is the opening track on Dylan and The Band's "Planet Waves" album from 1974.
