GF3 was a great movie. it provided insight on how the killing of Fredo was haunting Michael and how he continued to strive for legitemacy but the higher up he went the crookeder it got...all the way up to the vatican. Thats when he realized he couldn't do anymore and handed control over to vincent played by Andy Garcia, who, by the way did an excellent job playing sonny's son. When MIchael's daughter was killed, that was the price he paid for his promise to god that he'd "sin no more."

When I saw Talia for the 1st time here in part 3, I really agreed that they've aged so much, so was Al and Diane. Looking back at them at part 1 where Talia tried to attack Al for killing her husband, they were so young. and Kay having their date during Connie's wedding. They're like teenagers in love. Time had passed and I was never born on that decade yet. I'm ready to kill myself just to get back to the very 1st day this movie was premiered.

I really wish Robert Duvall was brought back. The ending of GF II hinted at a civil war between him and Michael. This would've made the dramatic scenes more compelling.
The villains (or rather rival mobsters) were also dull. The Swiss Banker guy, evil cardinal, and Sicilian with Over-sized Glasses couldn't hold a candle to Sollozo, Moe Greene, Hyman Roth or Don Fannuci form the earlier films.

Andy Garcia is the one of the worst actors ive ever seen ! Coppola's daughter Sofia is up there too ( the only reason she got the part in the film is through her father, the director ! ).
Pacino played his part with a sort of poker face, which gave you the idea his character was very calculating, and made him seem menacing, sometimes when someones pissed with you a blank look is scarier than if their face is all screwed up and angry.
But Garcia........ I think he was trying to mirror Pacino, and thats why Michael liked him, cos he saw himself in him, but to me he was awful, ...............................

Some of you haven't lived long enough to truly see the brilliance of both Michael and Connie maturing and aging in GF III. Remember, Michael never really wanted the job. He took it out of necessity. Sonny was dead and Fredo was slow...it was just business. Andy Garcia as Vincent was inspired. He was his father's son. There's a lot of world history you need to know to really follow this story. Duvall/Hagen is the main part missing. Great movie though, it fits.
I really liked part 3. This was a solid film. Acting was great, Soundtrack was great, the story dragged a bit but overall a good movie. Part 1 and 2 were great movies. Part 3 was not great but it was good, and fun just to watch another Godfather.

This movie is put down rightfully. It was well made and had great actors but it didn't complete what it should have. 1 = The Rise of Michael, 2 = The Rise of Vito (Looking back) 3 should have been the rise of anthony, Michael's son, the rightful heir, not some other guy.
so many things went wrong with the third one. Would have been nice to have Duvall in it even in a limited sense. And what happened to Connie's son who in part two was getting picked up for petty theft? how would he have reacted knowing michael killed his father? And sonny's son (not Vincent) how would michael handle battling the third generation? GF 1 and 2 made you think. 3 had michael talking out loud to a corpse - and stating the obvious remorse he was feeling. overkill & boring. waste
I do agree with the fact that Andy Gracia was cast simply because he had those pretty boy looks at the time and just was an insert here Mediterranean looking type.Being Cuban means being mixed with all sorts of stuff by the fact of simple history so looks really don't mean anything in that regard
Godfather 3 is nowhere near as good as 1 or 2 but it is a very good film in its own right.

The best thing about The Godfather movies was Marlon Brando i watched Part 1 so many times i can keep watching it and keep watching it everytime i enjoy it.
1) Al Pachino played the role of himself
2) There is no Tom Hagen
3) You can Watch it to get an end on the whole thing but dont expect its as good as Part 1-2

I'm amazed.
Pacino played his part with a sort of poker face, which gave you the idea his character was very calculating, and made him seem menacing, sometimes when someones pissed with you a blank look is scarier than if their face is all screwed up and angry.
But Garcia........ I think he was trying to mirror Pacino, and thats why Michael liked him, cos he saw himself in him, but to me he was awful, ...............................

Some of you haven't lived long enough to truly see the brilliance of both Michael and Connie maturing and aging in GF III. Remember, Michael never really wanted the job. He took it out of necessity. Sonny was dead and Fredo was slow...it was just business. Andy Garcia as Vincent was inspired. He was his father's son. There's a lot of world history you need to know to really follow this story. Duvall/Hagen is the main part missing. Great movie though, it fits.

I really liked part 3. This was a solid film. Acting was great, Soundtrack was great, the story dragged a bit but overall a good movie. Part 1 and 2 were great movies. Part 3 was not great but it was good, and fun just to watch another Godfather.

you know the movie isn't bad. Al pacino is the man, it still has those great godfather sneaky elements to it. Yes its overlooked because the first two masterpieces of films. But for me it really wasn't that, it was the fact the Michael wasn't as bad ass anymore. He still coulda been a G like his father being old. Still even the copalla was sticking to the books, I think making Michael a badd as motha would been better than kinda being a softy

This movie is put down rightfully. It was well made and had great actors but it didn't complete what it should have. 1 = The Rise of Michael, 2 = The Rise of Vito (Looking back) 3 should have been the rise of anthony, Michael's son, the rightful heir, not some other guy.

so many things went wrong with the third one. Would have been nice to have Duvall in it even in a limited sense. And what happened to Connie's son who in part two was getting picked up for petty theft? how would he have reacted knowing michael killed his father? And sonny's son (not Vincent) how would michael handle battling the third generation? GF 1 and 2 made you think. 3 had michael talking out loud to a corpse - and stating the obvious remorse he was feeling. overkill & boring. waste

I do agree with the fact that Andy Gracia was cast simply because he had those pretty boy looks at the time and just was an insert here Mediterranean looking type.Being Cuban means being mixed with all sorts of stuff by the fact of simple history so looks really don't mean anything in that regard
