i know vanessa ... that's my best friend marrissa's cousin. she was such a nice girl . my friend didn't come to school for like a month . no one knew this was going to happen ... IT WAS NOT ON FACEBOOK OR ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET !!!! gina lost her boyfriend who was vanessa's best friend . how would you feel if you lost your best friend or boyfriend ? you'd be devestated . i remember this day like it was yesterday .

When I was 13, over 50 years ago, my best friend was killed by a train and I cried and cried for a long time over losing him. It's not easy dealing with death, no matter how old we get. My brother died 4 years ago, and a part of me has died along with him.

@dumbasscracker ehhhh, well, I dont think its nature because I doubt cavemen or caveteens lol killed themselves over dead loved ones, they just moved on. I think people just watch too much TV and want their own little drama. You know. Theres a kind of glorification with suicide that can seem irresistible to impressionable kids with low self esteem.

@dumbasscracker yeah...i was kinda suicidal as a teen. Everyone has these feeling at some point but the difference is we get over them, and try to better ourselves. These teens did no such thing and just gave up for no real reason, which ticks me off a little. Not necessarily because they're dead but because everyone is always portraying them as martyrs or victims. No one should commit suicide in a first world country nowadays unless they have a terminal illness or something.

@dumbasscracker Sorry but I just dont see it that way.If teenagers were that weak then the human species would have gone extinct a long time ago. I think these girls were just stupid, I dont think theres anything wrong with saying that...though its insensitive. But I think all these people trying to look for ''answers'' and ways to prevent this from happening are overthinking things.Teens can be stupid and sometimes they like making drama. Its too bad but oh well life goes on.

I feel bad for all of them. Certainly the Kelli..girl? I think her name is. To see two of your friends being killed, by their choice, watching them die, imaging that, that would've been you as well, just a second earlier. It makes me cry even thinking about it.

she is an amazing girl and i am so proud that she saved her life. I am shocked that girls my age would ever go through so much and risk so much for a boy. I am so proud of kelli and her smart choice but i am still very very sad for the other girls and i am praying for them

This suicide was all over a BOY? Where the girls not allowed to see this boy or had the boy passed away? Please explain.

I had a feeling all along that this suicide had something to do with perhaps they weren't allowed to do something or have something.

I feel for Kelli and my heart goes out to her as she witnessed this tragedy and will have such a heavy heart forever. I do hope that Kelli is getting some help in order to deal with what happened. Thank you for posting.

Hey Sierra This is just terrible and there is never a reasonable answer just questions that were asked to late or hidden problems that go unnoticed till this happens . As parrents none of us would ever disregaurd a sign that would point to the takeing of a life and even as we see this and ask our children tonight if every thing in their life is ok we should try to be involved with them to when if some thing is wrong we can sence it hopefully . Teens need mentors. A kindly aunt, grandmother or even trusted neighbor to have someone to talk to. It's amazing how much it can help. Mine was my granny. She saved my life.

My neice is almost 14 years old and her parents got her a computer with internet.. I instantly thought it was a DUMB idea

But then they got her a webcam also, and I absolutely refused to hook it up for her. What could a 14 year old (BUDDING) girl with such a GOOD figure do with a webcam? NO GOOD is what she'll do. And to this day she has never had that webcam hooked up, and Im so glad. Shes sooooo pretty, like a pedophiles DREAM. There is no freaking way Id let her use a webcam, EVER.

And also when she got facebook about a year ago, she wrote in her profile what her phone number and address was. (it was all innocent) but if we didnt go in and look at her profile we would have never known she put such sensitive information up on facebook

All of us are on her friends list now (her mom, me, grandparents and aunts and uncles)

So we all can see what shes up to online now, which is the way it should be.

They should not release information like this. I also firmly believe that they should have never publicised first shooting in the school and showing photo of murderer talking about him all the time on tv. Same thing in this case. They will glorify these girls in media and talk and talk and talk till others would like to be "just like them" - to die "famous". Another bad case when publicity will create repeated situations.

You go SIerra! I love your advice. Now if only more parents would do this, maybe it would not be so "weird or hard" for my kid with peer pressure. I tell my son....those things will fry your brain....and I purchase dvd's so he does not have to watch TV. He thinks my PC is my TV. :)
