@josiec yeah and im not saying the songs are similar at all after the chorus, or that its a rip off, just that i never noticed the similarity before. sounds are changed by experience, things that sounded so punk to me sound poppy now years later because of what came after. something is lost in music if you dont understand the time period, what didnt exist yet, and what came before.
