I haven't played this in several years but if I remember correctly, when you do the jump onto the all at :18/:19 on the video, you need to stay a certain distance to the right (very close to the wall until near the end) in order to keep the game activating hidden checkpoints. If you don't stay close enough to that wall and stay close to it for a long enough period of time, you won't get the finish to work at the end.
