I live in Canada and I had my surgery on September 29, 2008. That date is now my rebirth date. I plan on celebrating on that day as well as my birthday. I had to do a liquide diet for 3 WEEKS with only 3 fruit a day (4 shakes & 3 fruit). I was the same as you, soooo many emotions. I was even thinking of not getting it done...it just is so much easier to just NOT get it done but I had to go through with it. I stopped smoking 7 yrs ago and this was the last thing to take care of NO REGRETS.

Exciting about the house! Good luck with the pre-op diet. Its actually okay in its simplicity (though I'm not going to lie, the protein shakes taste nasty).

The preop diet is not that bad. It isn't fun or anything, but it is doable. I hope you get the house, it will totally distract you from the diet. Good luck with that!

As for job problem..its good u havnt found one yet that way u have plenty of recovery time! omg you are so just like me, i start my pre-op diet march 7th and surgery is the 17th so i am getting nervous too, i found myself today eating like a madman because i was thinking i'll never get to eat some of this stuff ever again and that's so irational...whatever but i am having so many emotions as well, just so you know-you're not alone !

Hi, everyday is getting you closer to your goal. That being the surgery. Just focus on that. Don't look back. It's going to be okay. the snacking yes.. its normal. You will be grieving the food that got you there. It's sort of like a goodbye. Don't stress. LOL as if thats going to happen. the good thing is that it will calm down after a while. PS. can you eat a pastrami for me?LOL my favorite food that I gave up. Oh and add a coke to that LOL. Heres to you and the beginning of a new life.

Understandable about the nerves working overtime, but you'll kick gastric bypass butt right to the moon & back again.. & rock it through... K- Nervous is so normal, i saw all these people say I am nervous the night before, I was like it will be ok blah blah blah. Then it was my turn and i thought I was gonna jump off the hospital bed. So it is normal and it may get worse before it gets better. It is all worth it. :) Good Luck - I live in Phx, where are you?

Nervousness is normal! You're so close to surgery now!
The preop diet is not that bad. It isn't fun or anything, but it is doable. I hope you get the house, it will totally distract you from the diet. Good luck with that!
