Your 2D elements were straight up projected on, which ruins the effect. If you were to UV unwrap your head model and then map your flourishes onto the head, render them out separately, and then composite them back onto your projection render in After Effects or Nuke you'd have a MUCH cooler result. The flourishes would actually wrap around his nose and eyes, for instance, and give you some true depth.
DAMN MAN! Just by luck found your video! Looks awesome! I was looking for a tecnique like this! Could you explain me how you did it? Also, is it posible to use video instead of a picture?! I hope you can help me out! Again, great great stuff!
This is how they should do it for games, cuz it looks more real than most stuff. Plus it would run perfectly smooth. Only problem would be eyes (which could be solved fairly easily) and combining the back-of-the-head textures.
@lebello it depends how you do it. If you just use the mesh to wrap the texture along the UV of a mesh, it would be fine, and it would be used like a normal texture, just very realistic.
you got something on YAW FACE

SONG NAME: If I Fall by Mozez...........The song used in the video must be an instrumental because the song Ive quoted has voice over the top!

But of course it would take a lot more work ;)

@HANGER187 ...Ha Ha, yes the model really sucks...the point was to show the power of camera projection and how simple it's implementation can be.
The whole thing took about 30mins to do.

Real awesome! Where can I find a tutorial?
YSSproperty 10 months ago
This shows how powerful camera mapping is because the actual human head model sucks. Very good implementation of camera projection though.
