  • "Mr officer, can I film you being a thug?" lol. Cops need to be filmed to weed out the thug cops who see themselves higher than the law. Never the less their are also good cops.

  • Why is recording the police being banned? How in fuck can it be a crime? Isn't anyone asking what do they have to hide? God damn this country is getting to be too much and I say it all the time that im going to flee it but this really does add more weight as to how quickly I need to. And 75 years? Pedophiles dont do more then 10. This shit makes me sick.

  • The good new's is...the judge over turned the case stating the defendant had a first amendment right to record the officer's.

  • @MrNoyl Thank god lol. This video had my blood boiling til I read your comment and looked it up.

  • @remsensor Yeah it got mine boiling too ha...so I checked it out and posted the comment to chill everyone out.

  • This is pity! How can a man face 75 years in prison for the most ridiculous reason yet. What has the world come tooo

  • Murrrrika

  • the country of the free right?

  • fine we'll kill cops and it won't be on tape this is why the cops need to be shot and we will take no mercy

  • Land of the free, huh thats a joke.

  • Power without accountability is tyranny! so what about the consent of the governed?

  • so murder is a 2 year offence but making a video is worth 75? It's official, the law makers of this world have gone bat shit crazy.

  • Anyone who wants an update. On Sept. 15, Second Illinois Judicial Circuit Judge David K. Frankland accepted Allison’s motion to dismiss the case on the grounds that eavesdropping law he is charged under is unconstitutional.

  • This is definitely cruel and unusual punishment... This is crazy!

  • heres an idea.. "Occupy (Whatever St. across from your local police station) with video cameras! This is outrageous and should be insiting riots, what a croocked piece of shit justice system America has and I am ashamed to be a citizen of this country after watching this. Fuck the police, fuck the drug laws, and fuck the justice system! I hope shit goes down in 2012 and we'll see how much authority people in uniform REALLY have!

  • I agree with so many of these comments that I'd rather just show my frustration by saying fuck the stupid ass people who have to live by a book and make others lives harder. Fuck the bitch ass faggot cops, who hide behind there badge and use the law as a game of dictionary to get away with things that are clearly ridiculous. On top of that a fine isn't enough you gotta try to ruin this guy's life. You who destroy lives should be behind bars, just like the murders who steal them.

  • These state laws are a violation of the due process clause of the 1st and 14th amendments of the United States Constitution. Allison should sue, BIG TIME.

  • Michael needs to be informed of Jury Nullification, so he can inform the jury. Jury Nullification is the right of jurers to vote 'not guilty' even if the defendant has been proven guilty, if the law is tyrannical.

  • This law destroys the only chance citizens have to protect themselves from those who abuse their powers as law enforcers. because it is the only action that can be taken by citizens, you can't interfere in arrest at all, or if the cop is using excessive force and you try to remove them from the victim, they can shoot you.

  • this video leaves me speechless "...the land of the free and home of the brave" my ass...

  • Closer and Closer to Communism. I guess, soon will be Women must cover their faces right?

  • @nicksaregone

    Trollin pretty hard there, bro.

  • illinois is a fuckin nazi state- worse than california

  • If people r recording police it is because they r not doing their job right and beating innocent people up. They are scared of being seen in action of how evil they r. The police r the bad one, u r getting like the fucking iran police. I agree with people wake the fuck up,. I am from the uk and i love my country because be believe in understanding and forgiveness. America is a godless country! I am scared to visit America incase i might end up in prison for something i did not do. FUCK OFF USA!

  • LAW ENFORCEMENT IS NOT ABOVE THE LAW! IF THEY ARE BREAKING THE LAW, WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO REPORT IT!

  • Land of freedom my ass.

  • @EternalSearcher

Before you get too excited, this case was dismissed, the judge ruled Allison had a right under the 1st Amendment to record the incident.

    Happy now?

  • @Blahblobify

Yay! I am. Mostly for the man, thanks for the good news. So maybe USA actually IS land of Freedom after all..

  • @Blahblobify

Oh PS - and maybe it's not. I was watching this old man, "edarem" on YouTube. RWJ covered one of his videos once. He was talking about innocent sorts of things - how to quit smoking, what his backscratcher looks like. One day he gets a sentence for THIS. It's somehow connected to his past, but i didn't care much because in my understanding it's inhuman to let old man die in jail for making videos about new wardrobe and stuff.

  • @EternalSearcher

He was sent to prison for making a video about "his new wardrobe"?

    Really?

    Last I heard that wasn't s crime, I don't believe your story.

  • @Blahblobify

Let me quote a wikipedia (/Edarem) to you:

    >Officers came to his house on May 1, 2009, where they confiscated his alcohol and computer, using the justification that under South Carolina law anyone with a previous conviction for sex offences is forbidden from owning either of these

    >The judge did not however accept Muscare's defence, and on January 06 2010 sentenced him to five years in prison for violating his probation order

  • @Blahblobify

And that's not MY story, friend. Type in "edarem jail" in Google and see whether it is or not. Even if it were a hoax (which i find hard to believe) it's not mine. I simply retell you what i heard and read. I take no joy neither in lying to you nor in being insulted by you.

  • @EternalSearcher

OK I googled edarem, apparently you haven't. He wasn't jailed "for making a video of his wardrobe". He is a convicted sex offender, molested a 14 year old boy, part of his probation after release is he is not allowed to use the internet, which is perfectly reasonable because that's where sexual predators hang out. He blatantly violated the conditions of his parole.

  • @Blahblobify

    > ... apparently you haven't.

    I'll quote my first comment

    >.... It's somehow connected to his past

Yeah, i knew it has some history. But the truth is as simple as that - he was put in jail for making this videos.

And would it hurt you to be slightly less hostile? I personally try to be polite with you.

  • @EternalSearcher

You keep misstating the facts: He was put in prison for being a sexual predator that molested young boys, and was let out on parole with the specific condition he NOT USE THE INTERNET AT ALL because of the potential for abuse. Which he did. Now he's back where he belongs.

  • @Blahblobify

Maybe my warm attitude towards him blurred my vision. Maybe you right.

  • @EternalSearcher

Thank you. Another way to look at it is to consider this: If he was put in prison for "just making a video", then there are BILLIONS of videos out there that will put their makers in prison.

His previous actions and parole conditions are why he's back in prison, that's it and that's all, not because of some Big Bad Evil America thing.

  • This Is Completely Ridiculous

  • US = freedom? Ha~

  • CHECK OUT HIS (UPLOADER)COMMENT SECTION FOR THE LINK TO THE CURRENT NEWS ON THIS GUYS DISMISSAL =-)

  • LOL i live in robinson, lol i never knew there was a law like this.lol you think the ass holes would inform us about this

  • let me point out that it is in public so there is no such thing as being private when your in public.

  • this reporter is one of the sheeple. how the hell is recording someone illegal. what about the dash cams on the cop cars what about when they record you. ppl have to open their eyes

  • Someone needs to start getting their legislators involved. FB anyone?

  • Hahah, really fun how ignorant americans tell me when arguing how USA has freedom that no other countries have when actually this kind of things happens in USA.

  • @Pvjinflight It's just in a few corrupt states that say it's illegal. It's perfectly legal for me to record po-pos here where I live.

  • I'm so happy that the judge in this case rejected charges against Michael Allison as being unconstitutional.

  • You americans should really really do something about this. This is the exact opposite of the ideals of america.

  • Land of the free baby!

  • ahaha USA makes me lol

  • Those are some sick and unjust laws. talk about double standards.

police can film everyone without consent yet no one can record the police?

  • This is truly unconstitutional at all levels and a slap in the face to America's Founding Fathers.

  • SEIG HEIL AMERICA. POLICE STATE OF THE WORLD. OBEY OR DIE.

  • @ufozmankato The Police wouldn't beat the shit out of me, because I'm not a criminal. I've been stopped by Police and they were always nice to me. Why? Because I was polite and courteous to them, recognising and respecting their authority. As for filming cops, perhaps you'd like me to come to your place of work (if you have one) and start filming you for no reason. Think you'd get quite upset pretty quickly. Hell, you'd probably call the cops on me!

  • Simple. Don't try to be a smart ass recording cops!

  • @jkb19893 Okay, when they are beating the shit out of you, well just look the other way.

  • i feel ashamed for living in IL

  • I'm a staunch Democrat who will be voting for Ron Paul in 2012 since he is outspoken and calls it what it is and that is a police state right here in the USA. We can't go on letting authority abuse it's power with Orwellian laws like this. People we have to take a stand and say enough is enough.

  • Vote For Ron Paul and put a stop to this.

  • AS IF THERE SAYING ITS ILLEGAL HOW CAN THEY MAKE THIS ILLEGAL IF YOUR A COP YOUR A FUCKING PUBLIC FIGURE! WHATS THIS FUCKING COUNTRY COMING TO GOD SAVE US!

  • They're not gonna charge him! These pussy's would've DONE IT ALREADY have his ass in prison. For some reason, this little piglet has scared the DAYLIGHTS of these buggers.

  • I am sorry for you americans...just wake the fuck up and start a fuckin REVOLUTION and the rest of the world will to ( dont forget who are the real enemy) peace.

  • @BabylonShallFalll I would love to ..seriously I'd love to march on to washington but our police will shoot us down.

We dont have to worry about our military they are on our side .

  • @BabylonShallFalll I can't take record the police? Starting a revolution. LOL

Faggot. It'd be easier to just change the law.

  • @BabylonShallFalll Either the government will take control or the Islamic Nation will take over making this world hell.

  • People who hold public offices should have no privacy rights when it comes to enacting their job.

  • This is unbelievable & that is preciously why my vote is going to Ron Paul 2012! Even if I have to write him in! THIS behavior should not be tolerated by taxpaying American citizens, I support the police, fire, military etc,,, but they need to remember, they work for us! Including DC!

  • 75 years...for the only real evidence of truth?

  • do i have to say it? who's watching the watchers.

  • I'm laughing at everybody who thinks this is something new. The government has been moving this way for decades, and people have only NOW taken offense?

  • Looks like Syria or Iran

  • Our politicians and lawmakers are more interested in protecting state money than its citizens. By illegalizing such undeniable evidence demonstrating police brutality, they have saved a lot of money in attorney fees, and gained immunity from future defeat in court battles. Unfortunately, money is king in politics, not our rights. :( Very sad reality.

  • First amendment is being stripped away slowly and slowly. 4th already has.

  • 9/11 was a tragedy, but that doesn't give police the right to violate 7 of our amendments.

  • I believe nearly all police cars have a camera mounted in them. Why is it OK for the police to record people without permission but illegal for a civilian? The people should have MORE rights than the government, not less. I don't see how anyone could think it should be illegal. If a news crew were to aim their cameras at the police without permission would they be committing a crime? Would they be arrested? So does CNN or your local news station have more rights than a regular citizen?

  • REMEMBER MUMIA...

  • Good old America for you. Fuck I hate what that country has turned into. If police have nothing to hide then they would not care about people filming them. Police are obviously breaking laws that is why they do not want people to film them. In place where it is now illegal to film police people need to stand up. People need to organize flash mobs of people recording police. They can not put everyone in jail for 75 years. This is offensive. I could rap someone and spend less time in jail.

  • this is why america sucks? ever since 9/11 we lost our freedom

  • To serve and protect. Who exactly? Not us I believe.

  • WTF? Did i wake up in Russia this morning?

  • @SuperSpecialAwesom12

Newsflash - there's more freedom in Russia than in USA.

  • There is no expectation of privacy in public. Quid pro quo.

  • Fuck the police

  • I hope this man Appeals if found guilty and brings it to the supreme court. This is some seriously dumb shit right here.

  • Fuck living in America, That's just fucking insane. you do 25 years for manslaughter. 75 years for recording a cop abusing his power? fucking backwards much?

  • I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

  • @TheSovietSquirrel we shud teraform mars and move there and form up a constitution that actually is taken seriously.

  • Land of the free, and the home, of the, braveeeeeeeeeeeee

  • This isn't the America I know and love if he goes in for this.

  • We cannot record them!?! If theyre not doing anything illegal they shouldnt have anything to worry about!

  • haha...that's why i dont live in the states

  • Fuck America. This used to be a country where we would talk shit about all others and say this is America motherfucker best in the world. Now because of our shitty politicians caring more about their paychecks then the well being of this country.

America for Americans not selfish punk ass politicians.

  • Police state!

  • Feels good to be American.. So is he going to prison for 75 years, or is that just what could happen?

  • @scoogger44 they'll probably settle for some lesser charges and a reduced sentence of some sort. but as more of these cases show up and the general public outrage fades away, people will start to receive full sentences.

  • fuck the police

  • WOW this is BS. Im if cops can do whatever they want then screw em.

  • LOL?

75 years in an American Prison? Easy shit LOLOL

  • wow this is a load of bullshit

  • How are officers supposed to be held accountable for their actions when laws like this exist? Talk about unconstitutional!

  • Party tiem?

  • What the fuck is this shit? If the cops weren't fucking abusing their power, then they wouldn't be so mad about people recording them.

Fuck the world, this is horribly corrupt. If people don't want to be filmed doing bad shit, then they shouldn't be doing bad shit.

I like stealing shit from wal-mart. Maybe I don't like being recorded either. Why does this law not apply to me?

  • become a secured party creditor look up illuminaiting minds and get yo shit done and walk in the court room and serve their az with a power of attorney general paper with your u-c-c 1 fileing and serve the states attorney and judge and watch how they act lol

  • This shit really pisses me the fuck off!

  • Many years ago, while employed as an insurance adjuster in the Springfield area, I came upon an accident and parked to take photos of the scene. The police were already there, and told me immediately to stop taking photos. I advised my employment as an adjuster, and that I might actually receive the accident to investigate and settle claims arising from it. I left, and two days later, I received the claim! This was over 30 years ago in Illinois. Looks like nothing has changed!

  • Sounds like Robinson Police... I'm glad I'm moving.

  • Wow, and cops wonder how a normal person can be pushed to the edge so much that they snap and put a bullet thru their badge and into their heart. You fucks want a calculator?

  • Let's punish people for filming shady cops! Fuck ya! Go 'Merica!

  • Comment removed

  • I've seen a few posts on the Internet of claims of police officers while on duty and in uniform having sex in public view near public roadways or raping women. Nothing is done to them or maybe they are dismissed but not charged with any crime. If we cannot videotape what is in open view, then we have no rights. We are basically villagers from the story "The Emperor's New Clothes" where the boy who would speak the truth is neverborn or shut up on the spot - a story with no happy ending.

  • the prosecutor is a piece of shit.

  • The ordinance violation that started all of this for Mr. Allison is where the story truly lies. The local officials are stealing peoples property without due process. They are trying to put him in prison so he cant get his evidence out. What's going on in Crawford County is no different than what is going on all over the USA. Local Governments are being run as "Good Ole Boy" systems.

  • clear case of common law gone 'mad'!!!!

  • This is absolutely ABSURD! No wonder America is going down the sewer faster than poop & no wonder so many of their police officers behave like wild animals!

The same blinking, evil 911 perpetrators are behind ALL the mess & chaos and they thrive on it, but their days of doing so are numbered and they know it. Justice WILL prevail & hopefully SOONEST too. All the best Michael! With so many watching this case, the sods are bound to back off & use this as a threat to others.

  • Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.

  • Keep fighting the good fight Michael Allison. Get the law in Illinois Changed Baby!

  • The worst years of tyranny in Brazil, during the 70's were not as close as draconian as USA under this "Patriot Act".

  • So the state can monitor us, but we can't monitor them?

  • Cops are thugs n bullies

  • The people in these States need to face their lawmakers not the police,as bad as the police act at times they cannot change the law only YOU can force laws to be changed with numbers of people backing a petition which is presented to your law makers.Support people who are trying to change unjust laws.

  • This is called abuse of power. They're making it illegal to film what they are doing so that they can do anything and everything they want to anyone they want including murder and planting illegal items without proof to get them convicted. The police are playing us for fools and so is the government. I pray for the day when Americans will wake up and quit getting fucked for everything they have.

  • @ItsPaiin this is also connected to the fact that a lot of prisons are no longer run by the respective governments but by private companies. a private company is only in business for one thing: to make a profit. they make this profit when people are in prison, so it is in their best interest to get as many people locked away as long as possible. that is also the reason behind mandatory sentencing requirements and obscenely long sentences for irrelevant offenses (this, minor possession, etc.)

  • @ItsPaiin That is so true and its sad that the government is allowing a law like this to exsist. Its sick. Now there is no way to stop the cops that are abusing there power or them getting the proper punsihment for there actions.

  • @ItsPaiin What are you talking about. Its always been illegal to film anyone unless they give their permission the news and general media break this law everyday but because its a civil dispute no action is taken cause the person does not care in this case the police do care an do not want to be filmed in a bad light there are thousands of videos with cops doing there jobs and then being defamed "bad cops" when they were well with in their rights.

  • @partydude123456789 you have no right to privacy when in a public place. Cops film us all the time, why can't we film them?. There is no law that says you can't film someone in public. If you are in your house, then you have a right to privacy. If someone wants to film me in public, there is nothing I can do about it.

  • @gbenay its called a civil law suit i.e. sueing someone for impeding your rights. But you cant sue the government because you voted them in soo yeah.

  • N.W.A was right f%$k da police.

  • It is selective, in 2005 I was assaulted by Manassas Virginia police in a CVS store after submitting to arrest. I identified that the store had security cameras to my attorneys, they did not bother. Since then I have posted to no effect, the failure to address represents the state of our nation.

  • Casey anthony murders her daughter and get's away with it,michael vick's cousin fight's dogs and he get's convicted of it,OSCAR GRANT is held down by 4 cops, while handcuffed and is innocently executed in cold blood....he was a young father, now his daughter will grow up without a father, the cop who murdered him get's less than 2 years in prison....you can't tell me shit about jusitce or peace in this country....if they are going to take your rights away, might as well shoot first, they do.

  • This breaks my heart. It's as though they are trying to provoke us into a violent revolution. The employers (us) have every right to monitor our public servants. Remember what they told us after 9-11? "If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to worry about".

  • Comment removed

  • That is just disgusting.

  • Put down the camera and pick up your assault rifle!

  • Citizens are always being told they should have nothing to hide. Fine. Now apply that principle to the police.

If filming anyone in public places without their consent constitutes illegal "wire-tapping", then CCTV surveillance cameras must also be deemed illegal.

  • All security cams and home cams would have to be removed by LAW

  • What if a cop gets his video taken by

Store Security Camaras and Home Security Cams

If a cop gets on video from a store security camera the guy that runs the store should goto jail 4 life as well

  • Comment removed

  • Not too many cops are familiar with law. Real criminals caught robbing stores, stealing cars etc; are obvious. Crimes without a victim i.e. death, injury, property damage...not so much. If you know the law, or hire a lawyer from out of town/state these tickets can be beat in court. The video tape makes it soooo.. much easier to get them dismissed. The judge can't make the cop look justified, if the tape proves otherwise. That's why the cops have dashboard cameras. For their protection.

  • @thebomber45 There are three states that have been dead set against citizens taping cops. Illinois, Maryland, and Mass.
