The rapture is an event that happens before the second coming where god keeps his people from judgement because he said we are not appointed to wrath. He also said because we have kept the word of his patience, that he would keep us from the hour of trial that shall fall on the whole earth. Also, compare the descriptions of the rapture and second coming.

The word of God said In Mt 24 which JESUS himself spoke that the tribulation days will be shortened for the elects's sake, if not no flesh shall survive. Now ask yourselves why Jesus will call those left behind the elect if he came for the elects in the first place. It does not make sense now does it? And he said in mt 24:29 that after the tribulation of those days he will come with the sounding of the trumpet and gather all his people.

Don't be deceived the rapture is after the tribulation.

Christians at the time will be lifted up to Heaven at the rapture right before the start of the Tribulation. But there will be people who will get saved during the Tribulation who will have to endure it.

Just want to point out the "subtly obvious": ANYONE (within reason..) could be the antichrist, for all you know. That includes those not yet born. It also includes some of the seeming heroes of our time. I AM NOT ACCUSING RON PAUL OF BEING THE ANTICHRIST, but as an example, consider if Paul WERE the antichrist...it would follow with prophecy, wouldn't it? ALL I AM SAYING IS, WE MUST BE CAREFUL

Also, be cautious about the idea of being saved from tribulation...this may have false origins

It is possible that anyone could be the Antichrist, There are people who believe the prince of Whales is the antichrist, but I think he will come from Rome, see Daniel.

I am also aware of the different theories involving the rapture, and have studied them fairly in depth. I believe that the pre-trib model holds the most water, but I am not entirely opposed to a mid-trib theory.

A pre-trib rapture IS scriptural, it is not heresy. After Rev. 4:1 and during all the judgements of Revelation the church is not mentioned once! Those who are martyred during this time are those who repent and turn to the Lord. To say that a pre-trib belief is heresy is extreme and judgemental. johnfalkners you need to repent. Also, the antichrist will not be revealed until "he that restrains is taken out of the way". This "he" can only be the church.

And he told God he had been going up and down and to and fro in the earth. he was already on earth.

Satan was cast out of Heaven when he sinned, but he still has access to heaven when he wants to. See Job. In Revelation, he is no longer allowed into heaven.

Many books of the bible speak to the event of the rapture,if you are looking for the actual word you need to go back a little further than a 170 years to the original Latin. If someone teaches there is no rapture,flee they are denying the word of God.

There is NO pre-tribulation "rapture" of the saints of God. This is a relatively new heresy only about 170 years old. Those that teach this are guilty of adding and/or taking away from the prophesy of the book of Revelation, which the book of Revelation has dire consequences for those that do this. If your church teaches this heresy, flee from it, because your pastor is deceiving you, instead of preparing you for the coming time of testing. Love the truth. Do not be deceived any longer.
