  • I got into kpop in 2006 when I was looking though forums on S.H.E and I read a comment that compared S.H.E to S.E.S so I checked then out and then I started to listen to kpop but I listened to old groups like hot, baby vox, kiss etc

  • I have liked Korean music for about 10 years. I don't just listen to mainstream, like most people do. I got into Korean music by myself. Why do people post videos about how they got into kpop. It's so much easier to just read it. I don't want to sit here and stare at you while you take forever to tell me how you got into kpop. I'm not trying to be mean, I would rather read.

    ASSASSIN'S CREEEED.

  • @VitaminloveViP dude/girl did you play the latest Assasins Creed? ;p Revelations? cool stuff

I dunnu, I make videos and dont have a blog, so yeah...

  • In late 2004. Fell in love with BoA and then discovered my main bias - TVXQ ♥

  • I have pretty much the same story :) cool stuff

  • i found out about kpop through the kdrama whhile chanmel surfing :)

  • Nice....and can I say u are pretty cute

  • I got into K-Pop since 2010....it's all started with the group called Girls" Generation(SNSD). Their songs are so nice, then i tried listening to other K-Pop songs, and im now attracted to their songs and I like K-Pop now...

  • @SoshiLover94 SNSD ftw

  • I got into K-pop from J-pop. I got into J-pop from anime. I got into anime by myself. It was all a giant accident. But it wa the best accident I've ever made.

  • @IAmShiningShinee SHINee <3 XDDD kpop was the best accident for me too!

  • I just got into it because of SM town New York. PPL were goin nuts over that. It was everywhere.

  • @ChrisJ235 thats pretty awesome ;p yeah, I wish I was in NY at the time

  • i got into kpop because of korean dramas lol. anyways you're really cool. i seriously do! just subbed you <3!

  • Ok I want to share too, I started to like kpop HONESTLY! when I started watching BOF, and I like Kim Bum soo much, but don't know why ended up with loving SS501. So u could say that my first KPOP music/group is SS501, even tho I quit in loving them and decided to be an ELF for Super Junior after watching U (even tho it was time when sorry2 got famous)

After that I got to know many kpop and being a kpop lovers now for 3-4 years.

fav group ever : Suju & Wonder Girls :)

  • Where do you live ? && Where do you buy yhur albums at ?

  • @TheDYProduction in Poland, you? I buy albums on SoshiGoods, Yesasia and physical stores (but thats when I was on vacation in Japan.) and sometimes my friends buy me an album when they're visiting their family in Korea

  • I first heard about kpop 4 years ago when my brother use to listen to SNSD. I wasn't really interested in it and I didn't know why he liked it so much but it wasn't until my cousins let me listen to kpop groups like 4Minute and Super Junior a year ago that I started to like it a little bit more. I REALLY got into kpop when I saw Oh My Freind by Big Bang a month ago. Ever since then, I've been listening to different kpop groups and my favorite group is SNSD. I listen to kpop everyday now. :)

  • I first heard Kpop when I was in 9th grade. During human geography class we would always listen to the music from the country that we were studying. It was around the end of the year when we started learning about North and South Korea. The teacher found some popular Korean pop music and let the class listen to it but the reaction from my classmates we're not good. Everyone complained that they used auto tune and couldn't sing in real life but I liked it and was brave to ask what group it was:)

  • @7akinator good for you :D glad you were able to get past some stereotypical biases etc especially so since your classmates didnt like it, its great that you were brave enough to ask ;p and now you can enjoy it, who cares what they think, right?

  • Umm~ he said " You like 2pm? why didn't you tell me, i will show you a store " so the next day we went to that store and it was a store filled with ONLY kpop merchandise. So i ofcourse bought a hella lot of merchandise. socks and albums And so on :D After then i have just grew fond of kpop, and i grew fond of other groups like 2NE1 SNSD BEAST and so on. I also got my friends too love kpop. i'm now the kpop guru for all of my friends XD they keep updated through me ^^

  • @TheLittleMissEvil haha, I love comments that take more then one word limit ;p means its actually worth reading because whoever wrote it cared enough to make it so long ;p

anyways, that's a very cool way of first getting in Kpop :D And I guess you and me are similar in that you keep your friends updated on Kpop -

I keep my KOREAN friends UPDATED on Kpop :D ME, a Polish 17yr old ;p haha

  • @NipponPole Funny that you keep your 'Korean' friends updated, that's awesome :D i'm half thai half eouropean :D But kpop is my life and it's the only thing i listen to, my ipod is all about kpop LOL :D About the comment: i can't shorten the story that got me into kpop, if it where to me then i would have wrote it longer with more details :D but that's me , i'm jst weird XD and suju is only like 9 now or somth :((

  • @TheLittleMissEvil Ye ;p

I think its even less, I read somewhere that after Heechul enlists that they will go on as 8, but isnt one of the "missing" SuJu's done with enlistment soon?

  • @TheLittleMissEvil also "half thai half european" doesnt tell me much ;p What country/countries in EU?

  • @NipponPole Oops :D " Half thai half Danish" :D

  • @TheLittleMissEvil that sounds like a very fun compilation ;p I have a couple really fun friends from Denmark

  • @NipponPole Yeah super fun :D LOL

  • Umm~i first 'dicorvered' kpop in december 2009 to be accurate when i was visiting my Family in Thailand ^^ I was on this hotel flippin through some channels on the tv, when i saw something interesting. It was idol army with 2pm and they performed 10 out of 10, so the next day when i got back to another hotel i sat down with my laptop and searched for the song.. And that's how it started. And when i got back to my cousins house i told them about it and he said ... TO BE CONTINUED :D

Jedziesz do japonii, kupujesz sobie płyty! :) Myślałeś nad tym co chcesz studiować? Może koreanistykę?^^

Ah, rozumiem..Warszawa :) Ja mieszkam na lubelszczyźnie, czyli tej 'gorszej' części Polski, haha.

Eh, no więc.. czekam na więcej twoich filmów :)

  • @Infinitlyourseoul ;p Tak, kończy sie wcześniej

    ostatni rok w liceum

Wow~ you were really attending to international school? You're so lucky! And how rich are you and your friends to bring their laptops to school? ㅋㅋ Where do you live? O_o Kraków, Warszawa? :)

How i got into kpop: It was may, 2009. I was just searching through Youtube when i saw SNSD video. It was Gee. I really liked this song and i wanted to be Sooyoung lol. That's how it started :)

A tak przy okazji uważam, że to cute, że oglądasz dramy, haha xD Ładna czapka.

  • @Infinitlyourseoul co do pytanie, jestem z Warszawy, ale mieszkam pod Warszawą w cichszym miejscu.

  • I remember the day when I first discovered Kpop and it was also by accident. It was around July 2010. I was bored one day so I was browsing around the top most watched videos for the day on YouTube. And SHINee's practice video of lucifer happened to be trending. I watched it and was like wow this is kinda cool so I started watching the related videos and got hooked!

  • Have you heard of Rino Nakasone? One of SM's biggest choreographers?

Before I found out about Kpop, she was/is one of my all time favorite dancers.

Back in June 2009, i was on this site, BloggingBestDanceCrew.

Rino Nakasone is part of the crew beat freaks, so she was mentioned on their site, and they mentioned one of her projects; SHINee's Juliette. So I watched the video, and eventually found out that wasn't her first project with them. So youtube/google/everything about them, and was hooked.

  • @fxSHINee thats a quite unique way of getting into kpop ;p

good for you, not many people got into it like that, but it doesnt matter too much, the point is you found out about it, liked it and stayed ;p

  • @NipponPole i know, it's weird, but it's faith! lol :P

atleast you have friends to share your love of kpop with. i have no friends to share my passion of kpop (and other foreign music) with. but still, i can never get bored of korean music. :P if you watch some of my videos, (i dont have many up right now..) all of them are choreography taht Rino Nakasone did. :D

  • @fxSHINee oh nice, sounds good, I'll check them out

  • I got into kpop in sept-october of 2009 most of my friends are Korean, Japanese, Chinese, etc pretty much some type of Asian and i got bored listening to my friends talk about kpop so i asked them to show me some stuff so they showed me stuff like the Abracadabra mv but i noticed in what ever kpop mv i watch there would be comments about snsd so i was like wow they most be good everyone keeps talking about them so i looked them up watched a perf of genie and have been a sone ever since.

  • @bandgeek34 haha, so in a way, pretty similar to me, I guess. Same deal with my Korean friends showing it to me.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again SONE <3 ;p

  • I think I watched all your vids lol I put your videos into autoplay and just listened to you talk (and occasionally watch) while I was doing a painting hahaha

I subscribed because you like Jessica and she's my bias lol

    Keep posting new vids :)

  • @nelian52 well, thank you so much for doing that and commenting about it :D very sweet comment, and I really like reading comments :P makes me want to make more videos, if I know people enjoy watching them, or listening to me even just talk ;p haha

too bad not too many people like that, otherwise I'd have a bit more views and subscribers, but I don't care about that right now

  • i got into kpop in summer 2007 because of my sister. She showed me a Super Junior mv and I thought some of them looked cute so I checked out their other mv. Then there were these elfs who were bad mouthing a new girl group that was supposed to be a female version of suju. It turned out to be SNSD. I checked them out to verify the negative things people said about them and they were not true. I ended up LOVING them. Now I'm a SONE even though I'm a girl. Somehow i love SNSD more than suju lol :D

  • Great video. Found kpop in 2007 or 2008 through YouTube and SNSD was the first Group.

  • i got into kpop because of wondergirls...their song nobody spread in almost all radio stations in my country so i watch the music video of it...good thing gee was in the suggestions...i watch it and i got addicted with it...now i'm a sone!!!!

  • @RJDBproductions ;p so basically it was luck

    I <3 all SONE's ;p

  • I got into Kpop in 2009 when I was really bored and searched about a Kpop vs Cpop vs Jpop vid. Kpop got my attention. I first started listening to 'Genie' and I was like WTF?! but then I started liking it more and more. Than I got into Wonder Girls, than 2ne1. And now I'm totally addicted XD

  • @bernidamm

Yeah, it totally feels like every non-korean who randomly stumbled upon kpop kinda thought it was weird at first, but somehow once you listen to it a bit more, you get used to it and just fall in love ;p

  • nice vid!! i got into kpop in the same way :D running man ftw!

  • @lost3ro Monday Couple hwaiting ;p

  • Awww I really like this video :3 it's like as if you are directly talking to me the way you spoke lol and it's funny because I was telling my friend the same type of story yesterday

  • @Hibari131 <3 ;p

I decided to make this video because there is a new guy in my class, a Korean guy who moved from France, and I saw him watching "I'm a Singer" once in the library, so I started talking to him about it, and he said he went to SMtown in Paris etc. and was very surprised in how I knew about kpop etc so I told him a shorter simplified version of this story. This isn't even all that long, because before I became a real SONE there was still like a couple different things that happened

  • @NipponPole That's so cool <3 How did you find out about SNSD :D

  • @Hibari131 Related video to Suju's Sorry Sorry was SNSD's Gee ;p

  • I got into k-pop when I saw the video for GD & T.O.P's Knock Out on the youtube homepage, I thought it was very weird and I laughed at it in the beginning but the chorus got stuck in my head so I kept going back to listen to it (making me love it haha) I thought G-Dragon was really cool so I looked up his solo music and Big Bang and from there I learned about other bands like 2NE1 etc.. G-Dragon's Heartbreaker was the first k-pop cd I bought now I have so many by different bands.

  • continent love kpop (and SNSD) like i do! please keep putting up your videos, I'll definatly be watching them :)

  • @mewmewchesca

;) Yup, I love just how many international kpop fans there are, and how nice just about all of them are.

btw that's one loooooooong 4 part comment, ;p but I still read all of it.

  • I also have the same opinion when you say that american stuff kind of got old and they were so interesting and totally different! I also got into ather band through like related video on youtube and through Kdramas. All i have to say is you are SO lucky that you can talk to people about your "obssession" on kpoo with other people from korea who are interested in kpop themselves... living in a small town in canada.. i think im the only one. So it nice watching another person... in another

  • and i watched it but i must say i didnt fall in love right when I saw it. I thought it was strange that 9 girls where in a group. So the next day after school I went on youtube and one of my asian friends favorited snsd oh! music video and I was like Oh she know them too and i watched the video and I never went back. Kpop and Kdrama has also become a big part of my life as well. And it was just because I was curious about 9 girls.

  • Hi Nipponpole ^_^ so my story is kind of like yours. an exchange student came to our school in my grade nine year but we never really got to talking till the end of grade nine when he was in my science class. (this was around early 2010) and he added me on facebook. So on facebook I looked through his profile and it said his religious views was SNSD and was like what is a SNSD? So i went back to his homepage and i saw a post for SNSD's Run Devil Run So i was like this looks interesting.

  • Oh and congratulations on your license and wooow nice collection *.* Anyway it was very nice to watch your video at 2:30 am ^^

  • @BelleByul haha, ;p well, since my home internet is very slow I usually upload everything over night ;p so it ends up being posted so late at night Poland, and so relatively EU, time

  • and they became my favourite band ever after. Then I got more curious and I started to discover other bands such as SHINee, 2PM, f(x) and other variety shows and here I am :D For me it started sometime around the middle of 2010. And I was also really tired of american videoclips and polish videoclips and pop music.

  • @BelleByul

Yeah, I became a fan of a lot of bands after watching them, or some of the members, on variety programs, because they seemed to still remain normal people, not spoiled by their fame or anything like that, compared to many US/EU artists who are very very stuck up, most of the time, so after watching SNSD "Girl's go to School" and some of their other shows they made around their debut in 2007, and seeing how hard they were trying to do their best, I just fell in love with them ;p

  • I watched it on youtube and I loved it *.* Soo I wanted to find out what are those bands and I watched SNSD videos. Run Devil Run made me loove SNSD. And then the biggest reason why I love kpop popped out. SUJU Sorry Sorry :D At first I thought they are ugly and why 13 people? Isn't that too much? The same reaction :D But then it kind of stuck in my head so I watched other suju videos and I loved them for the song "It's you". And then I started to watch Unbelievable Outing Season 3 with suju ...

  • International school huh? That's the reason your english is so awesome ^^ It was a great idea to share your story with the world :) And it's funny 'cause my kpop mania beginning was a bit similar to yours. I was into asian stuff since I was a little kid so I knew korean dramas and one day, on the website epdrama I saw two photos one with "Cabi Song" and the other "SNSD". I thought those were from some drama so I asked people on chat. After I found that Cabi Song is a Song not a drama I....
