GUYS! This song is too cool to fit in the movie. I honestly think it's good craft to use in the film. The director knew this song would too true to be good in the film. I really like how it sounds of the late 50's to the early '60's. Just too unique how her voice sang the lryics. " I know the sixteen reason why I love you". I'm happy to hear this song from time to time.
@90Buscape Even though Eraserhead might be a movie with a specific subject, it is surreal and its meaning has to be constructed individually.....Eraserhead is a mirror which reveals contents of your subconsciousness.
Of course one could analyze it, but in my opinion thats not the intention of the movie.....So my advice for you: watch Eraserhead when you are a little bit tired (probably at midnight ;) ) and let your associations explain the movie to you.
@karatecamel 1. Pay particular attention in the beginning of the film: At least two clues are revealed before the credits. 2. Notice appearances of the red lampshade. 3. Can you hear the title of the film that Adam Kesher is auditioning actresses for? Is it mentioned again? 4. An accident is a terrible event — notice the location of the accident. 5. Who gives a key, and why?
@karatecamel 5. Who gives a key, and why? 6. Notice the robe, the ashtray, the coffee cup. 7. What is felt, realized, and gathered at the Club Silencio? 8. Did talent alone help Camilla? 9. Note the occurrences surrounding the man behind Winkie's.
Yes, it's an outstanding song. But this version, venerable as it is (1961) is still pretty new and a bit "Mickey Mouse" IMHO. It was originally written in 1932 by Jerome Kern ("Show Boat") and Oscar Hammerstein ("Oklahoma", "Carousel", "South Pacific").
yeahhhh, this is no doubt the girl...
