  • Nice Alan.

  • the double second pans plays melody harmony counter melody and accompany they also have the best voice the alto voice even tho its not the lead the double second is the best ..thats the pan he is playing

  • The lead, or soprano pan is often referred to as a 'tenor' but if any the latter is not always musically correct, you will have to ask a musician exactly why that is so. Depends really who you mix with and which country you are in. Some still call them ping pong's because the single notes were pushed up from bottom and looked like ping pong balls, but as you are from Trinidad I guess you know that!

  • @penedawn its called a tenor pan....wat u mean its not correct. d ppl who invented it in trinidad called it dat

  • We still have Spider and Invader pans and 4/5ths from Bb so the guys will call them that, so you rarely hear 'tenor'. Russell Henderson MBE rresponse is:- 'The " Tenor-pan" is a Steel- Pan name, and should not be compared with other musical instruments, or the human voice. It is also known as a :Ping-pong, High -tenor and low tenor.' He, as you should know, is one of those people you mention.
