  • We made him a FB page, where we have posted alot of his work and people share their memories. Please feel free to check it out. norman.rose.voice.of.god

  • @rhs102857, Nope. It's my father-in-law, Norman Rose. You may remember him as the voice of Juan Valdez, too!

  • I'd swear that the guy doing the voice over in this ad is the same guy who did the voice of "THe Robot" on "Lost In Space" .. Hmm?

  • I had this capsule when I was a nipper. Such a shame that nowadays kids aren't allowed to grow up like we were able to do in the 60s and 70s. No more innocence of youth.

  • wow, so kewl. those were the days.

  • Great vintage Joe commercial, thanks for posting it! Although upon looking at it, how much trouble do you think those kids got in for setting up and filling up an above ground pool in the house? *lol* --Dancougar82

  • had this toy when I was 10. It is stil my favorite. Also do you know of a wire controled !8 wheeler truck ? It was large and came with a varient of trailers.

  • Still gives me chills...one of my favorite toys as a child.

  • Here in Mexico we only had the astronaut

  • I remember going to my cousins and staying with my grandma. My cousins were away and I played with his GI Joe and Capsule. I put it out in the yard and would do a rock meteor shower from the back deck above and I smashed it to shit. Boy were they pissed when they got home. This was in 1974

  • We got most of what is in this commercial as hand me downs from my Cousins. Had a great time. It's too bad there are no toys like this that spur imagination in this day and age.

  • I had the astronaut joe with the 45 record all scratch to crap but man i had fun

  • i had the space capsule.and the space suit.that was b4 life like hair. unfortunately gijoes legs would fall off from rusty springs from the bath tub.lol.thanks 4 the comercials.

  • I still have the 45 RPM too. "Welcome to manned space exploration..."

  • My astronaut GI Joe with space capsule are long long gone ... but I still have the 45 rpm record that came with it. One side has the count down and lift off along with some in-space transmissions by John Glenn during his orbital flight of 1962.

  • I had this toy! Probably worth a small fortune today...
