I'm confused, Ryan's John Wayne sounds pretty much like the present one he uses, but here he acts like it is so different from what he actually sounds like, yet I've heard been called dead-on. I don't watch anything with John Wayne in it, so I am very confused.
@CountryMusicFanForev Hey Country! It seems like I've been following you on a lot of videos lately. I know what you mean. I actually have seen a few of the Duke's movies. I don't really think it's a bad impression. He frequently walks bent forward like that, and he drawls like that. I think that the pauses in the sentences were amplified, but I thought that was done at least partially for comedic purposes. Ryan always does that impression the same way. *shrugs*
I think the props game was the first time I've heard Ryan call Colin Col in the series. I actually think Greg used it before Ryan did, but I think Ryan actually made it up, just didn't use it on the show before now.
i think that's the first time i saw colin pull ryan back. i've been seeing the vice versa version a lot on 'scenes from a hat' :) kinda nice to see it the other way around.
btw, on props, could someone explain what was happening when colin said "did you know how fast u were going?"
@manitot I know this is a bit late, but the 'did you know how fast your were going?' was a reference to someone being pulled over by a traffic cop for speeding. Ryan was sitting in his 'car' and Colin was on his 'bike'.
I found the first game as an MP3 on a P2P file sharing service many years ago. I still remember the first time I heard "Midget In a Can." Totally hilarious, I still crack up over it.
One other thing: I once saw the old kids' show All That do a segment with a girl connecting pimples on some guy's body to make a sail boat. Think they ripped Ryan off at 1:05?
Technically it could be his first attempt.. because the shoot multiple episodes at a time so maybe the previous epsidoes in which he did a John Wayne was recorded after this one?
The worst impression?? That was great!

This is it, Ground Zero, where the greatest John Wayne-impression of all time was born.

They left Colin's mic on during Strange Bedfellows -- you can hear him giggle throughout.

That was a very good John Wayne impression; Clive has no sense of humor.

I don't get it. That impersonation was just like all the others. What was so bad about it?
SupperVix 1 year ago 4
@SupperVix That's the point, they're ALL bad! That's why Ryan was taken by surprise at the beginning of the game.

"C'mon, the ocean is perfectly safe! What could harm us...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!"
& "I ruined the whole party, Colin." are both classic.

Greg had the oddest one in "World's Worst," the ocelot juice idea. Clive buzzed him when he was about to say "brush away those unsightly pussies."

"Midget in a Can" sweet!
i don't get the cinderella joke in "Props"
the titanic ref. was pretty clever

The cinderalla joke: the prop was the pumpkin, Colin was pretending she was inside.

This must have been Ryan's first attempt at John Wayne.

Man, 4 thumbs down? People, it wasn't meant as an insult to Ryan. I was simply going by his reaction to his own impersonation. Lighten up!
Michael55443 2 years ago 6
Far from it...Ryan did John Wayne a few times previous to this in the British series.

Phil Lamar is amazing but improvisation is not his best suit, although the Jack Nicholson impression was sweet.
