Finally a decent review, not like those ones that the guy just talks and talks and talks and at the end he just messes up with the instrument so you can't nearly apreciate nothing of the product...
Torley, I wish I had half as much fun as you when I make music. I have become such a perfectionist and serious about my music that it has lost the luster and fun that you experience just fooling around. I used to have it when I was carefree and just experimenting and not trying to make a living off of it. I envy it.
lol, the "Ha Ha" at the beginning reminds me of something... let me think...
"Ha-ha! well now we call this the act of mating. But there are several other very important differences. Between human beings and animals that you should know about"
I had a few questions about your awesome production. In your dream journal album, in the song 040-Owly Eyes. What did you use to make that bass-line. It seems it has a lot of distortion. I also make music, and was REALLY curious how u got that kinda bass. It's realllyyy awesome!! If you can please enlighten me, that would be most appreciated. Thanks again!
@deadseattle Song's called "Where It's At". I'm pretty sure that Wurlitzer part is not an old sample. Lots of stuff from that album were samples from lots of great tunes though, but that one was a loop of something Beck played in studio.
Hey great demo! do you know if i can get some sofware for vintage organs like farfisa hammond etc? I'm very interested in obtaining these kinds of sound
@San5a Native Instruments have just announced a piece of software that is in fact called "vintage organs" and it has Hammonds and a Farfisa, so that should be exactly what you're after if you're still looking!
Man, it makes me SO extremely happy to hear people like you. You have so much fun and have a great personality. Whatever you do, keep playing hah. You inspire aspiring musician's like me.
Dude, your demos rock, its just fun to listen to you having so much fun, and you have a great depth of knowledge of music and the chops as well. What the heck do you do for a living, 'cause you have some made talent...
"I'm hearing all these melodies in my head" <--that, sir, is the sign of a great artist in any given medium ^^....during that part I swear it sounded like an anime intro :D
Your first few tunes on this sounded like something out of one of the Dirty Harry movies from the '70s, when he was being more pensive and contemplative.
And the Tetris riff was awesome - Happy Birthday, Tetris!
I also thought he could be drunk hahah but that really doesnt matter. :P
