  • I just put mine back into service, bought it new back in the 70s

  • i so wish i could find one of these i have yet to find an auction ebay

  • Cool but lets see it in action! :D

  • Is it really rare? I saw a mint condition one at a parking lot sale/mini flea market. How much is it worth???

  • as red fox said, they were smoking that latin lettuce

  • I want one of those!

  • awesome for a live performance on a party !

i def need one... someone sell's one ???

  • Lol god bless atari!!

    Great video!!!

  • Was this the first systems to use music visualization? Nowadays, music visualizers are quite common.

  • So they went from being awesome to being a tool and now French... So sad...

  • i was at one of my dads friends house today for a train club meeting he gave me an old pong machine and he mentioned he had this he said atari video music maker

  • you should try makig beats with this...like hip hop and electronica...or your own creation .. i make tracks ... but i would like to see this in action..

  • Please sell the unit to me

  • shrooms anyone?

  • Heres a question for you: I recently aquired one of these that is in near perfect condition, save for the AC adapter being chopped off. Since i have to make my own, i was looking for the power output specs of the original. I "think" i can see in your video that it outputs 16.6 volts of AC power, at 100mA. Is this correct, or did i read it wrong? Any help would be appreciated, since i am REALLY looking forward to using this as a backdrop during our youth services at church. Thanks!

  • So I looked on the power supply and here is what it reads "120 VAC 60HZ 6W" and it also says "16.6 VAC" at the bottom. I hope this helps.

  • whoa thats retro to the max haha awesome!

  • Aweeesome, just awesome!!! :-D

  • where do you get all systems ebay ,yard sales

  • Depends, often times I shop at a number of places including craigslist, ebay, yardsales, and I've even had luck at the Goodwill.

  • awesome! I've always wanted one of these

  • Wow that's really cool can't wait to see it in action!

  • dammit, i love all your systems.....BUT YOU NEVER SHOW ANY GAMEPLAY, DAMMIT!

  • He does.

  • Don't fret, my next video is showing this thing in action. My stereo is packed away, so I had to hook it up to a TV to show it.

  • haha sorry about that dude. i wasnt meaning to be a dick. just me overreacting haha.

  • No worries man I knew what you meant. =)

  • Did any other company make a similar device?

Except that Windows Media Player and similar software for computers day generate similar graphics to music on the hard drive!

  • Good question. To my knowledge there are systems that play some visuals when you play a CD in them like the Atari Jaguar CD, but there are no devices that sole purpose is to do what this does.

  • I becha one of these days, they might make component MP3 players for stereo systems that might produce graphics like that. And I hope they make future MP3 players like that to have interchangeable SATA hard drives.

Or better yet, why not have home theater systems with built-in support for graphics like that? And maybe future models of home theater systems might have SATA hard drives built-in.

  • Dude, those dudes were definitely smoking the wacky tabacky. DUUUUDE!

  • Thats a crazy piece of kit, do you know if it was a US only release?

  • wow seem's interesting cant wiat to see the vid

  • Yeah you're fight Devo did have this in their video "The My Baby Gave Me A Surprise". Daft Punk also has it in their video "Robot Rock". I'll post a video soon of this thing in action. Sorry I know you wanted to see that.

  • thats the one.. saw devo live last year too.. didnt know about daft punk.. will deffintly check it out.. yes i am hanging to see it in action.. when u do it.. can u use a mix of songs insted of just one.. differnt styles of music etc..

ps.. if theres only 1 wire out then how does the music go out urr speakers?.. i thought it had a follow through..

  • Very cool!

  • So it's basically an early music visualizer? What an awesome piece!

  • drugs are bad mmmkay

  • that is kick ass....where did u get it? and how much did it run you?

  • I bought it off ebay and I got a really good deal on it. I believe I paid with shipping around $150. Usually these things go for $300+.

  • 150? surely it must be worth more than that I guess the seller didnt know what he had?

  • wow... i want one :D

  • Interesting. :) Although I'd be very afraid to plug it in. It looks ancient and dangerous.

  • lol

  • Man I seen this at a flea market when I was a teenager. I for sure really wanted it but didn't have the money. I can't wait to see it in action! Awesome video.

  • Dude it's times like these I wish I had a time machine and could go back in time and do things all over again.

  • yeh like buy duplicate games one to keep the other to sell? lolol

  • would of gone nutz buyingup all the copies of snatcher, panzer dragoon saga and moonwalker
