sounds like you are actually fretting the strings with the slide.. Although original, this is wrong for the song and really not how slide is played.. Not saying its bad to do things your own way. Just saying that if its traditional blues slide like page plays on this song then only slide on the strings and not the neck.. If you have a problem with the action being too low you can raise your strings. Thats why many guitarists have a separate guitar set up just for slide playing..

I find metal slides a ton better.... gives little extra weight so you dont really have to push on the strings at all
