Not all Skyline for that Gen are GTR, the GT-R didn't show back up until 1999. More specifically the RB26DETT Z2 twin-turbo I6 engine. Also, they were AWD with that engine, not RWD.

True but we don't realize that by driving fast the cars emit more carbons then when driving at posted speeds. I for one an a fan of classic cars but only when they are tuned right and run as they should not rich. I used to have a Vega that had a 327 turbo charged and I was always tuning the car so I would get the best performance out of the engine. Most my friends didn't like that I had a turbo not a supercharger They said its un American but it was built to be a sleeper car.

I think you don't know what you are talking about. Toyota engines got smaller, more powerful, and more efficient throughout the 80s and 90s. During the 90s Toyota began selling increasingly less powerful engines in North America because of the aging of the population. Their sports models were discontinued during the last decade as the population aged and the market for sports cars shrank. It has nothing to do with environmental regulations.

Toyota stopped manufacturing sporty powerful cars because the market was shrinking, they wanted to maximise profit. However, there are a lot of cars, and engines that have been discontinued because of emissions regulations.

But, it is the environmentalists who damage people's cars, and put themselves on a pedestal and treat any car like it is the Devil's advocate who I highly dislike. Anyways that headlight is to get colder air from outside, the car can still race with the light in, if you ever go race, u do prep work, remove tirejack and subs/box, change tire pressure, and in their case, remove the headlight, they don't have to, it's just for cooler air charge temps. Many supra's race w both lights. I do see your point if it were permanent.

@patriot1360 mate, the supra will be a 2JZ (3L with a monster turbo) and the nissan looks like a R34 GTR with an RB26DETT which is a 2.6L twin turbo unless it has had a single turbo conversion or unless its a Z-tune (in which case its a 2.8L) and both are inline 6cly

Im never sure if i like drag Japanese cars, sure they are quick in a straight line, but they still dont compare to the american cars down the strip. These kinds of cars are best with corners, the strip is the only place where american cars can go fast and a road legal car with road legal tires in the 6s is dammed fast. @gumby1008 Road legal nowadays simply means it's registered. We all know these cars are not actually engineered and legal for the streets. My car is the same on a much lower level, although it's fast, it's not 100% street legal, but still registered since those parts are hard to catch out. But I still agree with you. Jap cars are lighter, which isn't always the best thing for drag and traction. But they excel on the race track, look at the R32 GTR, it won everything in every class it raced.

Meaning if you were to hit someone head on hard enough You'd be sitting with an RB25 in your lap
